For Herod had arrested and imprisoned John as a favor to his wife Herodias (the former wife of Herod’s brother Philip). John had been telling Herod, “It is against God’s law for you to marry her.”
An ambassador never gives his opinion, only the laws and principles of his government. He speaks the words of his King. Why do religious leaders and other believers give their opinions all the time? Do not get entangled with the strife and chaos of this world. An ambassador stays true to their assignment and purpose. Focused! He is placed in other countries and territory to be a representative and to influence others concerning his government. This why it is so important to study the Lord God's Constitution and have them written on your heart and mind. Then you become a better representative, more like Him. We are also more able to follow the leading of our Governor, the Holy Spirit. The Lord Jesus wasn't only the Lord and King, but also an ambassador for His home country (Heaven). “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going.”
“No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!”
Keep in mind, every ambassador of the Kingdom is a road map to lead you to the King by their behavior and actions. The Lord Jesus was the Word in the flesh. So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen His glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son. This is why He made this statement to Thomas: Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
By the way, ambassadors, never get involved in another government. However, you will find that many of a religious or carnal mindset who are always speaking out against this world's government or debating denominational differences. Whether here in the United States, or in another country, they fight and cause chaos in the name of Christianity or their religious beliefs. When the ambassador Paul wrote to the city of Colosse, he made this statement: For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and long suffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. Note some key words, such as will, knowledge, long suffering, Kingdom, spiritual, understanding, increasing and the knowledge of God. Not many want to suffer anything for the King. Even in their relationship with the Lord Jesus, their focus is on themselves and "what's in it for them". Many religious leaders reinforce that by teaching on prosperity, blessings and how to get rich. If that was the message Jesus preached, why weren't His disciples living in mansions with all that wealth affords?
Please remember, His Word is forever. Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear.
A true ambassador promotes His Kingdom government, not his personality. I will add, ministries built on personality are like the house built on the sand. It will crumble. Only a ministry build on the Kingdom will stand rock-solid!
Your greatest commodity is your faith and trust in the King.
