Under the King’s Protection--My Testimony

As I sit, preparing to write this article, my thoughts went as far back in time as I could remember. What a journey! I recall what my mother told me about when I was conceived. She said that the doctor told her she would never have any children. At that time, she and her husband were trying to conceive for eight years with no results.

She prayed to the Father and promised Him that if He gave her a child, she would give the child back to Him. Not long after that prayer, she conceived and I was born! I now realize that even though I went through many trials and hardships as a child and young adult, I was under the Lord’s protection because of the promise my mother made to the Lord and King.

I grew up in the streets of New York City, where drugs and gangsters owned the city and divided it up as part of their territory. My mother stated many times that the Lord God had His hands on me and that I belonged to Him. Even though I really didn’t know the King; I was protected by His mercy and love. But there was one scripture that always stayed with me while I was disobedient to His Word. But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:33-34

At that time, I had a religious mindset. I didn’t know anything about the Kingdom government. Through all of my sin and disobedience, the Father and King kept and protected me. I experienced the love of the King in my disobedience. So many times I was kept safe from gangs and the mob. He protected me and kept me from going down a path I could never return from and would never be able to fulfill His purpose for my life.

Keep in mind, that word of the King was always in my heart. It was the King’s Constitution that stayed in my heart. Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.

Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. Psalm 37:1-6

As I look back over my life, I can see clearly the hand of my heavenly Father guiding me and protecting me for this purpose. I make it my business to always keep His Word before me, and the Holy Spirit brings a scripture to mind whenever I need an answer or direction. Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. Joshua 1:8 NLT. . .  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 I believe this passage in God’s Constitution with all my heart.

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3 Learn to put all your faith in His Word and not in the government of your country. In this world crisis, He will bless you, keep you, and guide you through the Holy Spirit, our Governor in the Kingdom. He will protect you from all harm as He is doing for me and my family. I am a living example.

No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord. Isaiah 54:17

Remember, your faith in His Word is your most valuable asset in the Kingdom of the Lord God.

Under the King’s Protection

When you are a citizen of the Kingdom of the Lord God, you are forever in His divine protection. Your faith in the Lord God’s Word is crucial to His protection. Have faith and believe that He is a rewarder to those who believe and trust in Him!  But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6

As a citizen, always stay focused on His Word. His Word is the foundation on which our faith is built. It is your faith that pleases the King, not your sacrifice or doing good works while here on this earth. Your faith in His Word will drive you to search and seek out all you can about the will of the King for your life. Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:20-21

When you are led by the Holy Spirit—our Kingdom Governor—you are forever protected. Some will embrace this but others are blinded to it. If you are being guided by our Governor, you can never be misled or misguided. I can speak of this because I am an example of this and have experienced it! I am a living example, you can reference to. I wasn’t always like this but when I allowed the Word to lead and guide me, my life changed. Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do. For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. Romans 8:12-14 NLT  If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5:25

When Abraham obeyed the Lord God’s word, His protection came with that obedience. Abraham believed the Lord God. By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. Hebrews 11:8-10 It was because of Abraham’s faith and obedience that the Gentile has become part of the family and are citizens of the King.

The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others.  I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.” Genesis 12:1-3 NLT

When you stay in the Lord God’s Constitution and fill yourself up with His Word, you can say just as King David said, “I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread.” Psalm 37:25

If you are worried about the food shortages we are having in this world’s government systems and you are a Kingdom citizen, my question to you is, “Why are you concerned or worried?”. Why concern yourself with the troubles of this present world? Where is your faith in your Lord and King? What kingdom fills your mind? Make up your mind where your faith is and what you really believe. “So fear the Lord and serve Him wholeheartedly. Put away forever the idols your ancestors worshiped when they lived beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord alone. But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:14-15 NLT

Stand on the King’s promises! Psalm 91 A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they hall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. (vs 7-12)

When you feel doubt and fear, get into His Word and remind yourself of who He is and all of His commands to His citizens. “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:25-33

And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly Kingdom. 2 Timothy 4:18

In Your strength I can crush an army; with my God I can scale any wall. God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to Him for protection. For who is God except the Lord? Who but our God is a solid rock? God arms me with strength and He makes my way perfect. Psalm 18:29-32 NLT

Remember, your faith in the Lord God’s Word is your greatest asset in His Kingdom. It is your greatest defense against the things of this world!

Living By the Lord God’s Spirit

12/31/2021

There are times when we attempt to blend the world system with the Kingdom of Heaven but it just doesn’t work. Faith and doubt doesn’t blend. Like oil and water, it just doesn’t mix. When you live according to His Word, you are walking in the Spirit. The Lord Jesus made this statement to His disciples: What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before? It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. John 6:62-63 Ambassador Paul made this statement concerning walking in the Spirit:  Those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. Galatians 5:24-26

When we live by His Word, we will not satisfy the lust of the flesh.  I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16 When you lack the Governor--Holy Spirit--in your life, you lack the power to overcome things that would hinder you. Without the Holy Spirit, we are powerless. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Galatians 17-21 The word inherit means living in or experiencing the Kingdom here on earth.

Keep in mind that the culture of Heaven and the culture of this world are very different, polar opposites of each other. You cannot experience the Kingdom of Heaven if you are living according to a foreign culture. Ambassador Paul also mentioned those who have the Spirit in their lives and how that looks.  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. Galatians 5:22-26

Since the Governor’s role is to lead His citizens to live according to the King’s standards not the culture of darkness. He rebukes and corrects us. He uses the internal warning system of our conscience and reminds us of the wisdom of His Word and the teachings of King Jesus. These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. John 14:25-26 He reminds you what is written in the Lord God’s constitution of His Kingdom. The more scripture that is in you, the more often He will bring it to your mind in difficult situations. Once again, remember what King Jesus.  It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63 Many of you left some kind of religious organization but you must remember that you are under a new master teacher. He is the Lord Jesus the Christ (remember that Christ means “anointed one”. It is not Jesus’ last name!). You are under a new culture. The Governor teaches us to relate to the Creator as our Father. We truly are foreigners in this world. We are under His guidance and protection always!

Remember, our greatest asset is our faith in His Word in His Kingdom

The King’s Purpose Will Protect You

9/23/2021

Picture
Here is a bold statement. If you are working in your God given purpose and assignment, you will not die until that purpose is completed according to His Will.

There is a purpose for your life and there is a divine God-given purpose for your life. The first one is the purpose and goals that you set for yourself. The second is the purpose—and assignments that go along with it—that the Lord God has ordained for you from the beginning of time. It was the latter in Abram’s case:  Now the Lord had said to Abram:  “Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you.  I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Genesis 12:1-3

It is very important that you stay in line with the Lord God’s Word. At the time when the Lord God spoke to Abram, there was no written word, just the Lord God speaking to His representative. Understand this, when the Lord God makes a promise, He always keeps it. For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. 2 Corinthians 1:20

I recall what the angel Gabriel said to Mary concerning the birth of Jesus Christ through her:  For with God nothing will be impossible. Luke 1:37 Now, the question is, does your purpose line up with the will of our Father for your life? The only way you will know that is by allowing His Word to saturate your mind and being tuned in to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. By obeying and living according to His Word, you will discover your purpose in this life. A man’s mind plans his way [as he journeys through life], But the Lord directs his steps and establishes them. Proverbs 16:9 AMP

One of the greatest examples of an individual with a purpose and assignment was a young shepherd boy by the name of David, whom the Lord God had chosen to be King of Israel. Keep in mind that the Lord God picked David to be king first hand when David was very young. Now the Lord said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons.” 1 Samuel 16:1

Long before the Lord God had informed Samuel, His representative, that David was to be king, the Lord God protected David and gave him courage to protect and defend his father’s sheep. David explains his exploits to King Saul: And Saul said to David, “You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.”

But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep his father’s sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock, I went out after it and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it. Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.” Moreover David said, “The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” 1 Samuel 17;33-37 Know this, the Lord God had His purpose and assignment for David before his birth. Before David would take over as king, the Lord God gave him several assignments. One of his assignments was to slay the giant Philistine called Goliath. He did it with just a sling and a stone.

It wasn’t in his own power, but in the power and protection of God’s assignment on his life. David couldn’t lose because this was God’s Will!

Remember, any time the Lord God gives you a purpose and assignment, there will always be victory.  Moreover David said, “The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.”

And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you!”

So Saul clothed David with his armor, and he put a bronze helmet on his head; he also clothed him with a coat of mail. David fastened his sword to his armor and tried to walk, for he had not tested them. And David said to Saul, “I cannot walk with these, for I have not tested them.” So David took them off.

Then he took his staff in his hand; and he chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag, in a pouch which he had, and his sling was in his hand. And he drew near to the Philistine. So the Philistine came, and began drawing near to David, and the man who bore the shield  went before him. And when the Philistine looked about and saw David, he disdained him; for he was only a youth, ruddy and good-looking.  So the Philistine said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks?”

And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.  And the Philistine said to David, “Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field!”

Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.  This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.”

So it was, when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, that David hurried and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth. So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David. Therefore David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it.

And when the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled. 1 Samuel 17:37-51

My question to you is this:  How can you lose when the King has given you a purpose and an assignment to fulfill? When you are obedient to His Word and follow the leading of the Governor—the Holy Spirit—you can’t lose. Remember you are eternally protected when you follow God’s purpose for your life. When that purpose is complete, according so His Will, you will be free to go to the Father. So we are always confident, even though we know that as long as we live in these bodies we are not at home with the Lord. For we live by believing and not by seeing.  Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:6-8 NLT

Once again remember, your faith in the Lord Jesus is your greatest asset in His Kingdom.

Doubt Hinders Your Progress

1/16/2021

Picture
What is “doubt”? Webster’s New World Dictionary defines it as:  1. to be uncertain in your opinion or belief  2. to be inclined to disbelief and 3. to hesitate.

Does your character fit into one of those categories? I mention this one thing; a lack of faith in the Lord God’s Word will cause you to hesitate in every phase of your life. Look what happened to the apostle Peter when he attempted to walk on water. Then Peter called to Him, “Lord, if it’s really You, tell me to come to You, walking on the water.”

“Yes, come,” Jesus said.

So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted.

Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?” Matthew 14:28-31 NLT
Peter, even in the presence of the Lord Jesus, had doubt! In the world today, we are in a season where there is no room for doubt. It requires absolute faith in the Lord God. Without it that, we--like Peter--will drowned without His help!

Peter struggled with doubt more than once in his relationship with the King! His lack of faith even caused him to doubt and deny King Jesus. Simon Peter and another disciple were following Jesus. Now that disciple was known to the high priest, so he went with Jesus into the courtyard of the [residence of the] high priest; but Peter was standing outside at the door. So the other disciple (John), who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to the doorkeeper, and brought Peter inside. Then the servant girl who kept the door said to Peter, “You are not one of this Man’s disciples, are you?” He said, “I am not.” Now the servants and the officers had made a fire of coals, because it was cold, and they were standing and warming themselves. And Peter was with them, standing and warming himself. John 18:15-18 AMP

Having arrested Him, they led Him and brought Him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed at a distance. Now when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat among them. And a certain servant girl, seeing him as he sat by the fire, looked intently at him and said, “This man was also with Him.”

But he denied Him, saying, “Woman, I do not know Him.”

And after a little while another saw him and said, “You also are of them.”

But Peter said, “Man, I am not!”

Then after about an hour had passed, another confidently affirmed, saying, “Surely this fellow also was with Him, for he is a Galilean.”

But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you are saying!”

Immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed. And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” So Peter went out and wept bitterly. Luke 22:54-62

The Lord Jesus wants you to have total faith in the Lord God’s Word. There should be no doubt of that in our minds. Believing in the Lord God’s Word is an individual thing, not a group plan like insurance. You must believe without wavering. Make up your mind, settle any doubt and stand strong on His Word. If you want something from your Heavenly Father, ask and totally believe in Him and His Word. Too often we pray, have faith, but keep “revisiting” in our mind what we are believing for. When you truly believe He will answer your prayer, you know that in the Lord God’s time it WILL be done. It is settled. Wait and watch!  If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. James 1:5-8

Focus Point:  Our priority is in pleasing the Lord God by obeying and living by His Word. It is in your total faith in Him that things are done in your life. Allow me to share with you examples of what faith in His Word will accomplish in your life. Back when the Lord Jesus was here on earth, a soldier had such great faith in Him that he refused to even allow King Jesus to come to his house. All the soldier required was for the King to speak the words. When Jesus returned to Capernaum, a Roman officer came and pleaded with Him, “Lord, my young servant lies in bed, paralyzed and in terrible pain.”

Jesus said, “I will come and heal him.”

But the officer said, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come into my home. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed. I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, ‘Go,’ and they go, or ‘Come,’ and they come. And if I say to my slaves, ‘Do this,’ they do it.”

When Jesus heard this, He was amazed. Turning to those who were following Him, He said, “I tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel! And I tell you this, that many Gentiles will come from all over the world—from east and west—and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the feast in the Kingdom of Heaven. But many Israelites—those for whom the Kingdom was prepared—will be thrown into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Then Jesus said to the Roman officer, “Go back home. Because you believed, it has happened.” And the young servant was healed that same hour. Matthew 8:5-13 NLT

Now that was total faith—without doubt—in the King’s Word! He knew the power of His Words.

Keep in mind, this soldier wasn’t a Jew, but a Gentile. Do you recall what the Lord Jesus stated to the Canaanite woman? Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And behold, a woman of Canaan (Canaanites were ancient pagan enemies of Israel) came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord,  Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.”

But He answered her not a word.

And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.”

But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!”

But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”

And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”
Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour. Matthew 15:21-28

Persistent, total faith!

My point is this: the Lord God recognizes your faith in Him above all else. It was the centurion’s faith that the Lord Jesus recognized. It was the Canaanite woman’s faith in Him that the Lord Jesus recognized. They did not waver or doubt in the Lord Jesus and His power to heal and restore.

If we are to trust and believe, we must have no doubt in our faith in Him. Doubt is toxic to your faith in Him. What does doubt bring? Nothing. Remember what James said: But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. James 1:6-8

Yes, your faith in King Jesus and His Word is your greatest asset in the Kingdom.

Our Kingdom Is Not of This World

Picture
Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.” John 18:36 The Lord Jesus made this statement while being questioned by Pilate. Notice He said “If my kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight. . .” By stating this, the Lord Jesus was saying He had no valuables here on this earth and this earth was temporary. Besides, He had angels to do His bidding. Do you recall what the Lord Jesus said stated when speaking to Peter? But Jesus said to him, “Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword. Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels? Matthew 26:52-53

As citizens of the Kingdom, we should always keep in mind that because we are born again by His Spirit, we should live and obey His principles. “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also.” Matthew 5:38-40

The King’s principles are our principles to live by and make our lifestyle. Because we are citizens of His Kingdom, He will protect us for His name sake. If you are representing the King, He has a responsibility to protect His reputation. Nevertheless He saved them for His name’s sake, that He might make His mighty power known. Psalms 106:8 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Psalms 23:3

Focus Point:  Jesus is the King of His Kingdom. He is the final authority. That is the very first thing we need to understand in the Kingdom. His laws and principles are not up for debate or change. They are, as He is, eternal. A king embodies the essence of his kingdom—meaning the kingdom is the king. Without the king, there is no kingdom.

Please note:  The land and the people may still be there, but unless they are ruled and led by a King, they are not in a kingdom. Presidents and prime ministers change every few years, but the constitution provides continuity of law and government. The government doesn’t change every time there is a new president or prime minister. The government doesn’t embody the president’s essence, as a kingdom does.

Focus Point:  In a Kingdom, the King IS the constitution. His word is law. His word is government. The King is the ultimate and only authority in His Kingdom. I am speaking about King Jesus. Remember, the Lord God, His Father, gave Him all authority and power. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.” Matthew 28:18

In the Kingdom of Heaven, the authority of the Lord God, the King, is exclusive and absolute. His Word is law and His Will is carried out by His angels throughout the farthest reaches of the realm.

And of the angels He says:  “Who makes His angels spirits and His ministers a flame of fire. . . . Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?” Hebrews 1:7, 14

For My Angel will go before you and bring you in to the Amorites and the Hittites and the Perizzites and the Canaanites and the Hivites and the Jebusites; and I will cut them off. Exodus 23:23

Then the angel of the Lord went out, and killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty-five thousand; and when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses—all dead. Isaiah 37:36

But at night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said, “Go, stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this life.” Acts 5:19-20

No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; for He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. Psalms 91:10-13

Praise the Father that we are in His Kingdom, not a kingdom made by man! Our Lord and King is our provider, our protector, our guide and our strength in times of weakness. Call on Him for wisdom and discernment in all you do! He is your strength!

And remember, your greatest asset is your faith in the Lord God’s Word.

Praise Him Regardless. . .

1/1/2021

Picture
We need to praise the King all the time, regardless of our present situation. King David made this statement regarding the Lord: I will praise the Lord according to His righteousness, and will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High. Psalm 7:17 Notice his statement, “according to His righteousness”. We have a righteous God and King. He is the Creator of all things and always to be praised!

Please note:  Every morning when my father blesses me to see another day to continue in His purpose for my life, I give Him all praise and honor for He is my Lord and King. I am truly grateful! Praise the Lord, all you who fear Him! Honor Him, all you descendants of Jacob! Show Him reverence, all you descendants of Israel! Psalm 22:23 NLT

Focus Point:  But, do you recognize who the Lord God is? Do you see Him in your daily life and everyday situations? Can you see His hand on your life? What does He really mean to you? Is He only religious symbols and traditions? Is that how you see Him? Or is He a crucial part of how you live your life? King David knew who the Lord God was and how He impacted his daily life! Praise the Lord! For He has heard my cry for mercy. The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust Him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. Psalm 28:6-7 NLT Praising and acknowledging my Lord and King is my lifestyle. It is as normal to me as breathing! Is it that way for you? By the way, you should live your life in such a way that He gets all the praise and honor for everything in your life. Not in a religious manner, but as an integral part of life and everyday conversation. Every day there is something to praise Him for. If you don’t see it, change your focus and He will show you. Strive to be an example for all the world to see.

I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; the humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together. I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them. Psalm 34:1-7

Focus Point:   When you are praising the King and trusting in Him there is no room for fear or disappointment because He is righteous. If you trust in Him, no matter what happens in life, you know that He will take care of you and all will work together for your good in the Lord God’s time. His Word is true and is to be praised. In God (I will praise His Word), In the Lord (I will praise His Word), In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? Psalm 56:10-11

Be aware that if you acknowledge Him through your praise regardless of your current situation, your protection in Him is cemented. I am a living example of that! Never be ashamed to praise your Lord and King, regardless of where you may be. King David made this claim:  I will praise You, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing to You among the nations. Psalm 57:9 I will praise You as long as I live, lifting up my hands to You in prayer. You satisfy me more than the richest feast. I will praise You with songs of joy. I lie awake thinking of You, meditating on You through the night. Psalm 63:4-6 NLT

When you are praising your King in all His righteousness there is no room for the enemy to come into your life. His territory is the world and has no part in the Kingdom of God. We should always have a posture of praise and honor to the Lord God for sending His Son Jesus the Christ to this world for us. That alone is enough to praise Him! For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:16-17  It is because of King Jesus that we have a second chance.

I encourage you to cultivate a habit of praise and gratitude in your daily life, no matter what is going on around you. Every day, find at least three things to praise Him for. You may already be doing this—Praise the Lord! But if you aren’t, start right now. Even if life seems horrible, there is always something to thank Him for. It will snowball and your “praise list” will grow!

I will end this in praise to my King for His goodness to Arlene and I:

“The Lord God is so good! You protect our health and safety. Lord we thank You for placing us in a home where peace rules. We thank You that it feels as though You have placed us in a sheltered place, protected from the chaos and sicknesses of this world. We thank you for meeting all our needs. We thank You for wisdom and discernment. Father we thank You for guiding our steps and leading us where You would have us go. We thank You for our children and our friends and for all those you have led to our website. Father we even thank you for all the beautiful birds we see in our yard! Your Creation brings joy to our spirit! Lord we know that even our “little joys” are important to you! And Father we praise You for bringing us through 2020 and into 2021 unharmed and at peace in our home and town. Lord we love You. If we have ever placed anything or anyone before You, we repent and seek to go into 2021 completely focused on You and Your Kingdom! Praise the Lord for everything in our lives, for even any bad You will use for Your glory and to further fulfill Your purpose for our lives! You are Glorious!”

Remember, your faith in the Lord Jesus the Christ is your greatest asset in the Kingdom! Enter into the new year in praise!

Don't Worry Part 2

12/19/2020

So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear? These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need. So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. Matthew 6:31-34 The Lord Jesus is saying we are no different from unbelievers when worry dominates our minds.

Please note:  When you have a Kingdom mindset, you will know who you are and your purpose in this life. When you are focused on the Kingdom there is no room for worry or anxiety because you are aware of your first priority. The world, including religious minded people, is filled with anxiety and lack total faith in the King when troubles come. It is easy to think you have faith, until trials test it! When the Lord Jesus made the statement to seek the Kingdom above all else, it wasn’t a suggestion but a command.  A religious minded person is always asking God for something rather than praising and worshiping Him for His goodness, provision and protection. In the Kingdom of God, we don’t need to ask. The Lord God knows our needs. We need to praise Him for it! When you are a citizen in good standing, the King takes care of His citizens because they trust in Him. Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust Him, and He will help you. Psalm 37:3-5

Focus Point:  Many times, I have stated that oil and water don’t mix. No matter how hard you try to blend it, it will not stay mixed. Faith and doubt are the same way. We claim to believe the Lord God and trust Him, but our daily lives, concerns and thought reveal just the opposite. The statement, “Actions speak louder than words” is definitely true! We may say we have faith and believe the Lord God provides for all our needs, but we work and strive to earn enough money for our lifestyle. The issue here isn’t hard work, but our focus and who we see as our source and provider. Your employer isn't your source! Your spouse isn't your source! If we are seeking the Kingdom first, our first priority will be time spent in His presence and in His Word. That is what He means when He says to seek FIRST the Kingdom and His righteousness. You need that quiet time between you and Him.

King David had joy in the fellowship of the Lord God. O God, You are my God; I earnestly search for You. My soul thirsts for You; my whole body longs for You in this parched and weary land where there is no water. I have seen You in Your sanctuary and gazed upon Your power and glory. Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise You! I will praise You as long as I live, lifting up my hands to You in prayer. You satisfy me more than the richest feast. I will praise You with songs of joy. I lie awake thinking of You, meditating on You through the night. Because You are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of Your wings. I cling to You; Your strong right hand holds me securely. Psalm 63:1-8 When did you last seek the Lord with that great desire?

Now that we have a better covenant and the Holy Spirit—the Governor living in our mortal body—we can worship and praise Him anywhere and anytime! I praise Him many times while I am driving (with my eyes open of course!) or sitting in my favorite chair at home. I have learned, and am still learning, how to totally trust in the King’s Word. In other words, I am still growing. Our preoccupation with material things, satisfying our needs and wants and getting ahead in this world, is nothing more than pagan—unbelievers—behavior. They are always self focused, looking for “more”. Rather than seeking God's Kingdom and His righteousness, they are seeking after material things. Those who truly know the King as their Source don’t have those concerns because they are confident that no matter how things look, their King has taken care of them.

Please note:  It is important to understand what I mean by pagan. Contrary to what many may assume, most pagans aren’t atheists, nor are they usually evil people. On the contrary, I discovered that they are highly religious people. The word pagan refers to worshippers. It refers to individuals who worship a god other than the Lord God of all creation, as revealed in God’s constitution (the Bible). An equivalent word for pagan is idolater. Pagans are zealously religious devotees and adherents to a specific system of beliefs and are rigidly faithful to a strict set of customs and rituals. But it is not the Lord God they worship, but their gods are what He has created. They worship the creation rather than the Creator.

King Jesus stated that only religious people—Gentiles, which is pagan—chase after the basic needs of life. It is time to set aside a pagan mindset with its priority of things and take up the divine priority of the Lord God’s Kingdom and His righteousness. In this way, He will give you peace. Open the gates to all who are righteous; allow the faithful to enter. You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on You! Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock. Isaiah 26:2-4

Once we truly understand that our provision and our protection is our King’s responsibility, we will have peace and not live in anxiety and strife.  Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Philippians 4:11-13

Remember, your greatest asset is your faith in the word of God.

Don't Worry Part 1

12/12/2020

Picture
King Jesus made this command while down here on earth:  “Don’t worry!” Then He said to His disciples, “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on. Luke 12:22 NKJV Why? Because worry doesn’t change anything and it shows your level of trust and faith in God’s Word. Regardless of all the evil one puts this world through, we as Kingdom citizens are to stand tall on His Word!

Please note:  Most of us spend our time filled with anxiety about things we cannot change or that will never even happen. In either case, worrying is pointless. By the way, I am practicing what I teach. My faith in Him is getting stronger in His Word. Always remember, anxiety changes nothing. Anxiety consumes our peace, energy, time, talents, gifts, wisdom, strength and knowledge. It even consumes our imagination and ability to think clearly. This is why I stay in His Word and why it is vital that you do also. It fuels our faith in Him. We should have King David’s heart for the Lord God’s Word:  “How can a young person stay pure? By obeying Your Word. I have tried hard to find you—don’t let me wander from your commands. I have hidden Your Word in my heart, that I might not sin against You.” Psalm 119:9-11 The only thing that worrying accomplishes is to make one sick, causes your blood pressure to rise, and opens the door to depression. Stress causes veins and arteries to constrict and reduce your blood flow. Need I remind you that you are filled with anxiety because you have misplaced priorities, which causes you to have misplaced faith?   Look at the ravens. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to Him than any birds! Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? And if worry can’t accomplish a little thing like that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things? Luke 12:24-26

Focus Point:
When we realize who our true source and provider is, we will come to the realization that our total faith and trust is only for our Father and His Word. Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:5-6 You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on You! Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock. Isaiah 25:3-4

Please note:  In the Kingdom, invisible things of the Spirit are much more real than the physical we now experience because we were made by the Word of the living God. Remember, we were a spirit before we had a body! Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]. For by this [kind of] faith the men of old gained [divine] approval.

By faith [that is, with an inherent trust and enduring confidence in the power, wisdom and goodness of God] we understand that the worlds were framed and created [formed, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose] by the Word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible. Hebrews 11:1-3 AMP

The problem we have is that we have misplaced our faith. We have changed the focus of our direction and source. Instead of looking to the Kingdom and our Heavenly Father, we look to ourselves or mankind—spouse, parent, employer, pastor, and the government—to sustain us. When you have more faith in doctors, medicine and mankind in general, your faith is misplaced and you have opened yourself up to anxiety, worry and fear! Man will let you down, the Lord God won't!

If you are looking to anyone or anything else other than the Lord God, our Father and King of Heaven as your source, you will struggle and your life just won’t come together.

Please note:  Any religion that focuses on the acquisition of things and meeting personal needs is a religion of modern day paganism. Pagan is a broad term covering many definitions, including hedonism (representing those who are sensual, materialistic, self-indulgent and worship the pleasures of life), new age, wicca, and nature worship (by placing a higher value on all of nature than God the Creator and mankind). My focus in this context is pertaining to the great focus in today’s religions on “me”. When our focus and prayer life is consistently focused on our own problems, needs, wants, pleasures, comforts and desires, we become the focus of our worship! Therefore do not worry or be anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted), saying, ‘What are we going to eat?’ or ‘What are we going to drink?’ or ‘What are we going to wear?’ For the [pagan] Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; [but do not worry,] for your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His Kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:31-34 AMP

The Gentiles were considered to be pagans (or heathens). Our pre-occupation with material things, wealth and getting ahead in this world system is nothing short of paganistic behavior. It is hedonistic in many cases. For people will be lovers of self [narcissistic, self-focused], lovers of money [impelled by greed], boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy and profane, [and they will be] unloving [devoid of natural human affection, calloused and inhumane], irreconcilable, malicious gossips, devoid of self-control [intemperate, immoral], brutal, haters of good, traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of [sensual] pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of [outward] godliness (religion), although they have denied its power [for their conduct nullifies their claim of faith]. Avoid such people and keep far away from them. 2 Timothy 3:2-5 AMP

King Jesus told us in His Word that all our needs are met. All we are required to do is to seek first His Kingdom! Those of us who truly know the Lord God as our Source and Supplier will not have these worries and anxiety because we are confident that He has taken care of us. Complete trust in God brings peace, no matter what is going on in the world. But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also. Matthew 6:33 AMP

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:5-6

Remember, your greatest asset is your faith in His Word!

Kingdom Citizens Are Protected by Their King

11/21/2020

Picture
Recently, a storm came to our small city. It knocked out power throughout the county. It was a fierce storm with heavy rain and high winds. The wind was so loud it woke my wife and I up in the early morning hours. Our lights blinked a few times and right then I spoke to the Father, that the electricity would stay on He would not allow it to go out. Well my King was true to His Word in keeping with His promise. I recall the King stating to His disciples:  You can ask for anything in My name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask Me for anything in My name, and I will do it! John 14:13-14  By the way, He was referring to those who keep His commandments—His Word. “If you love Me, obey My commandments.” John 14:15

If you are a citizen in good standing, He will protect His citizens. That is what a king does! That is why it is so important to make the Kingdom your top priority. But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:33-34 NKJV When life seems to be in chaos and out of order, we should examine our priorities truthfully and see what is out of order according to God’s Word!

The King will always protect His citizens, especially when He has assigned them a purpose and an assignment that they are fulfilling. By the way, in that storm I told you about, there were over 291,000 without electricity in the city of Greenville alone! My wife and I were some of the very few who never lost power. My Lord and King is very concerned and protective of His citizens. Also, there were so many times that the King guided me and protected me while I was ignorant to His Will and purpose for me. That is His grace and mercy and I praise Him every day for it! Often we don’t see how He has protected us during those times until we look back and are amazed that we are still living!

Read here what the Lord Jesus said to His Father while He took time to pray: I have given them Your Word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. I’m not asking You to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. John 17:14-15 Once you are filled with His Spirit, you aren’t of this world and you need to conduct yourself as such. You need to walk with your head high while living by His Word. Do you recall what King Jesus stated in a vision to ambassador Paul while he was ministering in the city of Corinth? One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision and told him, “Don’t be afraid! Speak out! Don’t be silent! For I am with you, and no one will attack and harm you, for many people in this city belong to Me.” So Paul stayed there for the next year and a half, teaching the Word of God. Acts 18:9-11 He said to ambassador Paul, “Do not be afraid!” That was a command from the King, not a suggestion. The Lord Jesus stated that no one would hurt him. Keep this in mind, the Lord Jesus’ purpose and assignment for ambassador Paul wasn’t nearly complete. Even if the devil sends others to kill or harm you, you are protected by His Word to you. “I asked, ‘What should I do, Lord?’
“And the Lord told me, ‘Get up and go into Damascus, and there you will be told everything you are to do.’

“I was blinded by the intense light and had to be led by the hand to Damascus by my companions.  A man named Ananias lived there. He was a godly man, deeply devoted to the law, and well regarded by all the Jews of Damascus.  He came and stood beside me and said, ‘Brother Saul, regain your sight.’ And that very moment I could see him!

“Then he told me, ‘The God of our ancestors has chosen you to know His will and to see the Righteous One and hear Him speak. For you are to be His witness, telling everyone what you have seen and heard. What are you waiting for? Get up and be baptized. Have your sins washed away by calling on the name of the Lord.’

“After I returned to Jerusalem, I was praying in the Temple and fell into a trance.  I saw a vision of Jesus saying to me, ‘Hurry! Leave Jerusalem, for the people here won’t accept your testimony about Me.’

“‘But Lord,’ I argued, ‘they certainly know that in every synagogue I imprisoned and beat those who believed in You. And I was in complete agreement when Your witness Stephen was killed. I stood by and kept the coats they took off when they stoned him.’

“But the Lord said to me, ‘Go, for I will send you far away to the Gentiles!’” Acts 22:11-21

When the Lord God has assigned you to your purpose, there is not anyone to stop you except your disobedience to His Word.

Remember, your faith in the Lord God’s Word is your greatest asset in the Kingdom.
