Passing Through to the Next
In the world many people have made poor choices and have failed to meet their goals in life. Some didn't have any goals, but kept moving forward to nowhere. Up until a few years ago, I could say that even though I accepted Christ as my savior as a small child I didn't really know what it meant. Like so many today, I was religious and seeking to know Him. To let the truth be told, I was led by my physical flesh. If you notice, I said physical flesh, because your flesh isn't necessarily physical. I had no father or mentor to confide in, so the choices in my life were based upon what I had seen in others. By the way, they were poor examples for a young boy like myself. It is only when I started looking and reading the Bible under the guide of religion that a light began to shine in my mind.
One day I went on the internet and viewed my past history. It caused me to really appreciate the Lord and what He has done for me. Keep in mind, in this day and age, you can virtually find out anything about one's past just by searching on the internet. This world's system will always hold up your past in front of everyone for the world to see. But have no fear, Jesus doesn't hold your past against you once you accept Him as your Lord and Savior. There is a Constitutional: II Corinthians 5:17, that really encourages me:
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new.
Now for those of you who are reading this, and you have a checkered past, you have to accept this by faith. It doesn't matter whether you have a prison record, adultery, murdered, stole, or married several times, Jesus the Christ died for all of that. Once you accept Him as your Lord and Savior then embrace His message of the kingdom.
Constitutional Scripture: Matthew 6:33-34
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you. 34) Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
I just want to say, what I read concerning myself was humbling. And what I have accomplished in terms of education, learning and where God has brought me from is more humbling. But most of all, it's where He is taking me with a great woman, lady and wife Arlene by my side. It is an exciting journey!
What I have learned to do is trust Him, and forget about what I think I may or may not know.
Constitutional Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; 6) In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
