“What do you mean?” exclaimed Nicodemus. “How can an old man go back into his mother’s womb and be born again?”
Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit.” John 3:3-8 NLT
King David hungered to know the ways of the Lord God: Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day. Psalm 25:4-5 King David also tells us that it is the humble who learns from Him: Good and upright is the Lord; therefore He teaches sinners in the way. The humble He guides in justice, and the humble He teaches His way. All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth, to such as keep His covenant and His testimonies. Psalm 25:8-10
Understanding the mind of the Lord God takes patience, time, focus and total obedience to His commands. We as Kingdom citizens should always be mindful of who we are because of King Jesus. Regardless of where we may go in this present world or who is in our presence, we should always embrace His principles. Teach me Your way, O Lord; I will walk in Your truth; unite my heart to fear Your name. I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, and I will glorify Your name forevermore. For great is Your mercy toward me, and You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol. (death) Psalm 86:11-13 Personally, I can relate to those very words. Learning the mind of the Lord God will give you a different way of thinking and create in you an entirely different lifestyle. It will also change the way you look at people when you begin to see them as the Lord God sees them!
Learning the mind of the Lord God is a process of transformation in one’s mindset. Ambassador Paul spoke of this to those citizens of the Kingdom in Rome: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1-2
Having a Godly mindset causes a Kingdom citizen to always look for guidance of the Holy Spirit—our Governor. When you are guided by the Governor, you are being guided by the mind of the living God. You may ask how is it so? The Father, Son and the Governor (Holy Spirit) are One. Read what the Lord Jesus said as He prayed to the Father: Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are. . . I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one. John 17:11, 20-22
When you have our Governor—the Holy Spirit—residing in your mortal body, you will be taught and led by Him. Ambassador Paul spoke of this to the Kingdom citizens of Corinth. But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. 1 Corinthians 2:10-12 We are also taught by the Governor to love one another. Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit. But concerning brotherly love you have no need that I should write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another. 1 Thessalonians 4:8-9
I am sure you recognize that the Holy Spirit—our Governor—and the Word of God are the keys to learning the mind of the living God. He has placed within us the desire to know Him and He has given us all that we need to fulfill that desire. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8
Remember, your faith in the Lord Jesus is your greatest asset in His Kingdom.
