“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
As I write these words of encouragement, I see all around me those who are falling away from obeying God's written Word. He stated that this would happen. I find many individuals are openly encouraging their members to disobey the Lord God's Word. But I remember what Jesus stated:
Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when these things will be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”
And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.
We must keep being that light to draw those who are seeking, to the Father. Jesus stated that this is "just the beginning of sorrows". He went on to state:
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. If you will notice, Jesus stated because of wickedness the "love of many will grow cold". We are seeing that all around the American church today. All too often, they give you a sweet religious smile, but their hearts are far from God.
I want to encourage you to read and study the written Word daily. The more you do, the more sensitive to the Holy Spirit you will become. Trust in the King's Word. You will begin to be repulsed by the sins of the world. You will love what God loves and hate what God hates. You will become more like your Father God. I will close with these words from Jesus:
Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
Matthew 5:14-15 Matthew 24:3-8, 9-14, 34-35
