Taking Proper Care of Resources

As a kingdom citizen, you must be above reproach.  How do you do that?  By reading and living by the Word of the King, which is given by His Father God.  For example:  When you keep coming to work late, you can lose your employment. When you keep eating too much fat in the food  you consume, you can lose your health.  When you do not cultivate your friendships, those friendships can die.  If you fail to keep putting affection and respect into your marriage it will fall apart.   Whatever you mismanage, you will start losing.  Whatever you manage properly, you will protect.

Remember, proper management applies resources in the most effective, efficient and beneficial way.  Good managers don't waste resources, and they don't give them over to the wrong purpose.  Kingdom Citizens have a standard that is handed down from King Jesus.  God's managers do not hoard resources either.  When you hoard things, you aren't really managing them at all.  So when you earn one hundred dollars, you don't hoard it, but you don't spend it on your own whims either.  You take the first ten dollars of it and give it to the God of your creation.  Then you ask Him what to do with the other ninety dollars.  That is how you manage the money He has given you access to.

To use something correctly implies that you will use it with integrity,  By the way, always remember where your resources come from and who gives you the power to get wealth.  “And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.  Even though God was speaking to Israel, His Word still holds true to this very day.

If you use something correctly, you will not slip into dishonesty.  If you are not supposed to use the copier at work, you will not make personal copies on it.  You won't even help yourself to a paperclip.  Remember, proper management is timely use of another person's property.  Also remember that even your own property doesn't wholly belong to you.

If you are to be rewarded from King Jesus, obey His laws and principles.  There is no excuse for not being obedient.

We Manage, We Never Own

The reason we are in trouble in the world is because of mismanagement, through greed.  The only way out of this trouble is through righteous and wise management through Christ Jesus.

My question to you is, What is management? Management is the effective, efficient, correct and timely use of another person's property and resources for its intended purpose with an expectation of producing added value.  Read that definition very carefully.  Notice the individual words:  effective--efficient--correct--timely--delegated--value.  Remember you must recognize that you always manage another person's property, not your own property.  You do not own anything anyway.  You do not own the earth.  You do not own anything that exists on the earth.  You do not own the place where you work, in other words, your job.  You do not own the business you claim is your own.  You may have your name on it, but your business can be gone in one day.  Whether you do it well or not, your responsibility is to manage that job.  When the Lord God made the earth and filled it up with resources, the very next thing He had to do was to make a manager to take care of it.  That manager was humankind.  Men and women were given dominion over the earth's resources.   Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

Notice, however, they were not given dominion over each other.  God was still in charge of the people He had created.  God the Creator set it up so that Adam and Eve would find it good to take care of every good thing that He had created.  The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s; But the earth He has given to the children of men.  He wants us to take responsibility for the products of this planet called earth.  Keep this in mind:  God's divine goal was to extend the culture of the Kingdom of Heaven to earth.  The culture of heaven is  a culture of plenty; but only if it gets managed correctly.  When God turned His attention to filing the earth with good things, He decided to create a people in His own image to manage it.

Living By Your Faith

We live in a consumer-driven culture and it is in a crisis all the time.  The society around us is obsessed with things and the comforts of life.  People are perpetually tired and worn out, distracted and depressed, irritable and in a hurry.  They suffer from stress-induced illnesses.  They treat each other poorly.  But keep this in mind, the Kingdom of God isn't like that in the least.  The resources we need are supposed to come to us in the natural course of living our lives according to God's design and intention.

We do not seek the Kingdom of God because of its benefits, but its benefits come to us as we seek the Kingdom.  Remember what King Jesus stated: But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you.  The provisions and resources that we need are not meant to become the objects of our faith.  they are meant to be the by-products of our faith in the King.  Always remember, Kingdom dwellers have faith.  Their faith grows as they exercise it daily.  True Kingdom Citizens do not treat their faith as a tool or a trick.  When they exercise their faith, it is not like playing a slot machine, where if they somehow wind up with the right combination of words and actions, they win.  Rather, it is a relationship albeit with an invisible king.  This king of ours communicated with liberally with His people, especially through His written Word.  he has displayed His laws and His principles and has made them accessible to all who have eyes to see and ears to hear.

Our sole responsibility is to trust and obey His Word.  Remember the King gives the gift of the Holy Spirit to those who obey Him.  And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him.  God's Son, Jesus, came to preach the Kingdom of God.  That was His first and only message.  From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand".

You Can Find It In Times of Crisis

Dr Myles Munroe stated to a congregation that "He hated religion". I was one of those in that congregation. My wife Arlene and I were one of the few that responded Amen to that statement.  By the way, it was a church in North Carolina.  Religion is one of the great separations of God's people as well as the world.

My question to you is, What is your response when  a crisis comes your way?  Religious people look for a miracle or miracles.  When a crisis comes, they want God to take care of them without any effort on their part.  They are lazy.  They want to find a magic supply and immediate relief from their troubles.  They treat God the Creator as Santa Clause; or maybe like something less than Santa Clause, because even Santa Clause says you've got to be a good boy or girl before he will bring you gifts. Religious people treat the King like a genie in a bottle.  "If you rub the bottle three times in the name of Jesus, He will come out and grant your wishes".

Now kingdom people are definitely not religious.  Not at all.  Kingdom people are different.  They have a different mindset.  Kingdom people understand how authority works.  They realize that their faith in the King's Word is their greatest asset.  Keep in mind, they have an ongoing, daily relationship with the king.  Not just when they may want something or when they are in a crisis.  They hold the keys to overcoming every crisis that God allows to test them.

My responsibility as a kingdom teacher, is to show you the keys of the kingdom and to help you learn to use them.  Remember, God's commandments and principles will never change.  Here is what God the Creator stated to Moses to share with His people:    Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!  You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.  And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.  You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.  The King's Words will transform one's life, if you only submit your will for His.

A Great Humbling

Recently, those were the words God put on my heart.   Hmm?  Not a popular "word" for sure!  No "likes" or high-fives on that one.  But the two words that are standing out for 2015 are "humbling" and "obedience".  God was showing me that before the next Great Awakening--before the next great revival can sweep our country--His church must humble themselves.  Now is the opportunity for us to examine ourselves and root out any pride that is within us and within our churches and ministries.  We don't point out other's pride, but our own.  Search our hearts and root it out.  If we don't, He will.

Today, body cleanses are quite popular...colon cleanses, liver cleanses, kidney cleanses, etc.  What the church today needs is a spiritual cleanse.  Cleanses are uncomfortable, inconvenient and painful.  But once you are through it, you feel so much better.  The pain is worth the results.

We, as citizens of the Kingdom of God, must root out all the pride and arrogance within us.  We must not seek a good show in the place of an encounter with God. We must stop feeding our spirit junk food and begin to take in the good nourishment of God's Word and intensely seeking His face in worship and prayer.  He wants you to grow and fulfill His purpose for your life, but without proper nourishment you will stay a malnourished, weak, carnal Christian.

Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.  Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.   If we don't humble ourselves, God will.  He is gracious and merciful and patient.  He gives us many opportunities to humble ourselves and obey His Word.  But we can all name examples of well-known people who became "famous" preaching God's Word who didn't humble themselves and, in time, God allowed them to BE humbled by their sin and pride.  Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time.

People are watching your life.  What you do, matters. You have a purpose to fulfill.  Let's get serious about rooting out pride and carnality in our lives.  Let's make humility and obedience our top priority in 2015.  Now THAT is a New Year's resolution!

As God spoke these words to Solomon, He is speaking them to us today:

..if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place. For now I have chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever; and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually.

He who has an ear, let him hear, what the Spirit is saying to the church.

You Are Influencing Someone As You Live

Somewhere in your neighborhood, your presence has influenced someone to keep on doing what they are doing.  Whether it is positive or negative.  The way you live your life in public has helped shape someone else's life.  Keep in mind what the king stated:  You are the salt of the earth.  But if the salt loses its flavor how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.  The way you live  your life will influence someone who is viewing your lifestyle one way or another.  This world is just temporary.  Remember what our king stated in God's Constitution:  Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will by no means pass away.

Keep in mind, to large extent, leadership is influence, and all of us already exercise some influence, whether positive or negative, as I mentioned before.  If somebody else is watching you, you are a leader.  The moment you have a child of your own to raise, you are a leader.  When you know more about a particular subject than other individuals, and can teach it to them, then you are a leader.  When you are placed in a position of responsibility over your peers, you are a leader.  Keep in mind; leaders who exercise positive influence don't try to prove themselves to others.  They are more concerned with manifesting themselves, or revealing the purpose that they were born to fulfill.  When you inspire other individuals through your passion, you never have to announce that you are a leader.  People will think of you as a leader and will call you one themselves, because you will have motivated them to do something, to change the status quo, to create something new, to find a solution to a problem, etc.

Now keep in mind, the essence of influence is the ability to motivate others to take action and affect change.  By the way, that is the influence Dr. Munroe had on my life.  You can't influence if you fail to inspire, and you can't inspire if you do not have passion.  Do you see the domino effect?  You won't have passion unless you are convinced about your purpose, conviction and vision in this world.

The Age of the Powerless Church

Now what do I mean by the word church?  Well, I definitely am not speaking of the brick and mortar building.  The church of the living God, are those individuals who are filled with the Holy Spirit; not those who attend church every Sunday.  The Church are those individuals who are obedient to the Word of God. They are those who obey His Son, King Jesus, and act out His commands through their behavior on a  daily basis.   They are the ones that God gives His Holy Spirit.  It was made very plain in the early first century of the Church.  Peter stated it this way:  And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.

The Church in today's world system and society will never reach the place where they can have real power until they learn to obey King Jesus' commands in its essence.  There are so many in the church buildings who think they are in right- standing with God, but fail to obey His Word.  They obey what pleases them at the time, and disregard what they refuse to accept.  They live religious lives and refuse to embrace the Kingdom of God as Jesus the King taught and preached it.  We have more prophets, more apostles, but no real deliverance of the people of God.  When the Kingdom is present, the power of God is activated, because the Holy Spirit is there.  Not jumping and shouting only, but real deliverance.  And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.

That is what happens when the Church of God, under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, is in one accord.  So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart...  Where is the one mindset among the Kingdom Citizens today?

Knowing the Purpose When God Speaks

After grocery shopping in a crowded store, I stood at the checkout, trying to find the quickest line.  I pushed my cart in line behind a young lady.  Her little boy was with her and she had a very full cart.  Immediately I heard the Holy Spirit say "Pay for her groceries".  Now I looked more closely at her cart.  It was overflowing, but nothing was extravagant.  Generic foods, no alcohol or "extras".  She had a notebook and pencil.  This was  a woman who was being careful with what she spent.  I will admit, there was a debate going on in my mind.  "That's going to be way over $100"  "I can't afford that in my already strapped budget"  "Was that really God?"  "I am generous and  always want to help people out.  Maybe this is just ME thinking--my natural response".  The cashier quickly rang up the full cart. The young lady reached for her notebook and flipped through the pages.  Then  panic filled her face.  She patted her pockets, scanned the floor. "My card is missing!"  She left all of us standing in line as she retraced her steps throughout the store for her EBT (food stamp) card.  I told my husband what God had told me when I got in line.  Now he also had to come to an internal decision. "Don't void the sale",  he told the cashier.  We had both settled in our minds that she was not leaving the store without her groceries.  Just a few minutes after we had settled that in our minds, she came running back to the register with her EBT card!

But the Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!”  So he said, “Here I am.”  And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”  Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son.

What we learned that day is that sometimes God wants us to be His hands, sometimes He wants to teach us something, and sometimes He is testing us.  He will not promote you into a purpose without testing you first.  Yes, your gift will make room for you, but not until your character can withstand the testing and opposition you will face in that purpose.

Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams.

God wants to know that whatever He asks, you will do.  It's not about the sacrifice, it is about knowing that you will obey.  Then you will be tested and ready to be promoted into something far greater! “By Myself I have sworn, says the Lord, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son—blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”

Your Sense of Purpose on a Corporate Level

There is a place for everyone to manifest their personal leadership abilities.  There is also a standard that one must maintain in order to be effective in maintaining that leadership.  Your personal vision and purpose should always be in line with the corporate vision and purpose in order for it to be effective.  When King Jesus sent out His twelve disciples, they all had one corporate vision and purpose as well as one message.  .... “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.  And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.  Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts, nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food".

When Jesus came from the wilderness, from being tempted and tried by Satan, His first and only message was:  “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”  He didn't teach on healing, He healed.  He didn't teach on financial blessing, He had access in the Kingdom.  He didn't preach on casting out demons or worrying or getting things or stuff.  He stated:  Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Your gifts and talents should always be in line with your Creator's purpose. If you are a builder, do it for humanity, because you are doing it for the King.  If you are a computer tech, be the best at it, because you are doing it for the King. Remember, a leader who is motivated by his purpose, conviction, vision and passion never uses or abuses other people or individuals.

A Leader's Purpose Will Give Inspiration

Every time I read and study God's Constitution it inspires me to keep writing and sharing His divine will for all mankind.  My purpose is to inspire other individuals to embrace His Kingdom concept through the reading and studying of His Word.  As a leader, his Word alone give me inspiration.

Now in the process of leadership development, inspiration is the point where the leader connects with other individuals; it is where his purpose intersects with their purpose.  Keep this in mind, a leader's passion for his purpose is like a flame igniting new possibilities in the  minds and hearts of other people causing them to think in new ways and by stirring up and  revealing the convictions and visions within them.  As you can see, it causes a domino effect.  In this way, a leader's vision gives meaning to other individual's lives as it invites corporate commitment to a noble cause.  Remember, people's personal vision will always be found within a larger corporate vision.

Before I go any further, allow me to share with you the meaning of the word "noble".  It is having or showing high moral qualities or ideals or greatness of character; lofty.  Having excellent qualities, superior.  I trust that you see where I am going with this?

I am a staunch believer in God and keeping His Word.  When you inspire other people by your passion for your purpose, you won't need to recruit them to help you or obtain their "vote of confidence", or wait for them to approve of you.  As you awaken their sense of purpose, they will voluntarily join you in order to fulfill their own contribution to the world through participating in your vision.  In God's Constitution, King Solomon wrote, "A man's gift makes room for him, and bring him before great men".   They will offer their time, energy, resources and creative power to be part of a larger purpose to which their vision is connected.  Do you understand how important it is to know your purpose on this planet called earth?  Remember, God is the Creator of the heavens and earth.

A Word to the Wives--and Wives-To-Be

Have you ever played chess?  Well, the goal in chess is to corner the king so that any move he makes will cause him to be captured...."check & checkmate"!  The king can move in any direction, but only one space at a time.  Capturing him is how you win, but the most powerful piece on the board is the queen!  The queen's purpose is to protect the king.  To fulfill that purpose, she can move in every direction and from one end of the board to the other in one move.  That is why she is so powerful.

Now follow that analogy into a kingdom marriage, where your husband is the king and you are the queen.   As "king" your husband is your leader, protector and provider--physically and emotionally.  The enemy knows he "wins" if he can get your husband cornered--trapped on all sides and unable to  move without being captured.  He is the leader.  Want to win?  Take out the leader.

So often, I hear a husband talk about their wife being their queen.  Yes that is so true!  Wives embrace that title and also think of the chess game.  YOU have the power and authority to protect your husband.  You look at your big, strong man and shake your head and think "I don't need to protect him.  He can take care of himself".  NO!  You aren't thinking about the spiritual battle that rages.  Every believer knows this verse:    For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.  Your power, speed and versatility comes on the spiritual chessboard!

Wives, today I want to encourage you to watch as well as pray daily for your husbands.  There are traps, snares and opportunities set up to "capture" your husband;  all with the goal of fragmenting the family.  Nothing makes Satan and his minions tremble more than a unified marriage and family. Know the enemy and his tactics.  Be wise and discerning.  Learn to discern the attacks of the enemy and do battle from a spiritual perspective.  Your husband is not your enemy.  Your husband is not your child.  Your husband is not your "problem".  He is the king/leader of your family, whether he has stepped up to that responsibility yet or not.  If he hasn't yet, pray for him and help him to grow into that responsibility.  The past is the past.  Today is a new day.  Go forward with a greater understanding of your responsibility as the queen of your family.  You have been given the power to handle it.  And He said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.  Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Who can find a virtuous wife?
For her worth is far above rubies.
The heart of her husband safely trusts her;
So he will have no lack of gain.
She does him good and not evil
All the days of her life.

Are You Truly Passionate About Who You Are?

Allow me to share this with you.  Most people have an interest in their future, but they truly lack the desire to fulfill what they truly desire to accomplish in this life.  Yet, those who have discovered their purpose, formulated deep convictions, and captured their vision in what I call their mind's eye, will have natural enthusiasm and energy.  Remember, hard work and diligence are always involved in carrying out one's purpose; but they can be difficult to maintain without internal motivation.  Passion provides that motivation.

When you truly believe in your purpose, there will be a strong passion that will motivate you to achieve any goal that you set out to accomplish.  That fire will burn inside of you.  It will be the driving force.  Dr. Munroe was very passionate concerning teaching the Kingdom.  That passion has spread to many others to preach and teach the Kingdom of God; especially myself!  It is the foundation of my new existence.

It is a man or woman's sense of significance that helps a true leader to protect his or her passion from degenerating into mere hunger for power.  Tragically, there are leaders in our world who seem to have no trouble killing, manipulating, hurting, using or otherwise sinning in the name of some religious group, in order to achieve their end.  But they are not willing to die for something noble.  In contrast, the passion associated with true leadership comes from a personal commitment to sacrifice oneself to fulfill one's purpose; even to the point one would be willing to die for it.

Loving God's Word for what it is,, is the foundation for passion.  King Jesus put it this way:  "...You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind".

Now that is true passion.  True passion prioritizes your purpose  King Jesus stated it this way:  For where your treasure is, there you  heart will be also.

One molecule may transform several million reactant molecules a minute.   In plain English, a catalyst will change their surrounding environment without being changed itself.

Our lost and dying world needs Kingdom Citizens who are so full of God's Word that it oozes out of their very pores.  Catalysts who change whatever environment they enter.  People with an unshakable foundation of Biblical morality and integrity could walk into a bar, and before the evening is over, lives would be forever changed.  Drinking and hooking up would be the last thing  on people's minds because a catalyst walked in and they felt the change in their environment.  The Holy Spirit is ushered in with a catalyst, and the Holy Spirit convicts, and draws people to God and repentance!  Bible-thumping, yelling, condemning and telling people they are going to hell, won't do it.

The problem today is that far too many "believers" are more chameleon than catalyst.  They blend in and change to fit in with their environment and no one can tell them from sinners.  They become their environment!

This lost, damaged and dying world does not need another chameleon.  It needs catalysts!  How can you be a catalyst?  It begins from within:  And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.  Transform your mind, transform your world!

You were bought with a price; bought with the blood of Jesus.  Your life is no longer your own.  People are living lives of desperation and misery while the 'God hole' within them longs for Him. We have the answer! We don't have time to waste as chameleons!  Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Imagine a nation full of Kingdom citizens.  People walking in unshakable integrity. Kingdom Catalysts rise up and change your world!  Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Your Vision is Part of Your Purpose

Dr. Myles Munroe once wrote, "If you sacrifice your belief system in order to please others, you are not a leader, you are a compromiser."  I say one farther:  If you truly believe in your vision, then you and your vision become one with your purpose.  Keep this in mind, a leader's conviction about his significance, propels him to develop a personal vision, as he begins to formulate the specific way in which he will carry out his contribution to his generation.  Here is how I define vision.  Vision is seeing your purpose so clearly in the mind's eye that it is already done to you.  I see myself teaching young men the Kingdom of God in its essence.  I see myself, even as I write these words of wisdom to you.  My vision, purpose and passion are one.  All true leaders have a clear vision of their purpose on this planet called earth.  They can "see" the objective they hope to accomplish or the product they want to produce.

Keep in mind, when you have a clear and precise vision of your purpose, your vision will influence your entire life, including your priority, how you use your time, what you spend your money on, and what opportunities you act upon.  Now, my question is, what is your personal vision?  When you realize who you are in God the Creator of the heavens and the earth, then you will start "seeing" your dream and realizing how your gift can be served to the world; and you will begin to formulate a vision for your life.  It is through your vision that you will be able to begin the practical process of fulfilling your life's purpose on this planet called earth.  Remember, what God's Constitution stated in the book of Proverbs: Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but happy is he who keeps the law".

What is Your Conviction?

I have to share with you this one thought.  There are many individuals who are not convinced of their purpose in this life.  They haven't discovered who they really are.  The only way they are going to discover that is by going to their Source.  Once a leader discovers his personal gifting and leadership, it will ignite conviction in his heart.  In the process of leadership development, conviction has a two fold connection.  The first sense of the word is  a belief in one's significance.  Keep in mind, this is not just head knowledge.  It is the certainty that you have something essential to contribute to humanity.  It is 100% dedication to your purpose, which is stronger than any opposition you might encounter.  As a leader, you must be convinced that you exist for a worthy reason and that you are able to accomplish what you were born to do.

Now the second sense of the word refers to conviction (plural), or deep held beliefs based on commitment to one's purpose on the earth.  Remember, conviction gives you a sense of direction in life.  You have to be convinced of your purpose.  It guides your activities and give them meaning.  Keep in mind, your convictions are instrumental to your character development.  They lead you to become dedicated to specific principles or a code of ethics, by which you pledge to live as you carry out your purpose.  In other words, you don't have the option to behave like other individuals.

As a leader and a kingdom citizen, I don't have the option to blow up or say what I would like.  I choose to be guided by the Holy Spirit.  He is my Helper and guide. Regardless of what goes on in your life, He will guide you to all truth.  "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose".

Comfortable In Your Purpose

There are so many individuals comfortable in what they are now doing.  I see them every day here in this state of South Carolina.  Allow me to share this with you.  When you are settled into your purpose, insecurities will begin to melt away.  You won't wear yourself out trying to please other people; you won't need others constantly telling you that they approve of you and what you are doing.   I know that you will like yourself, because you will experience your own inner approval as you fulfill what you were born to do.  The Creator put that potential and ability inside of you.

Being compatible always requires one to be in harmony with his or her Source. King Solomon stated it this way:  "By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches and honor and life".

The primary focus of your leadership, therefore should not be to lead people; that result will develop naturally.  Rather, it should be to discern your true self and to pursue your purpose.  By exercising your unique gift, you will discover your personal leadership and find meaning, fulfillment and contentment to your work. The character it takes to sustain your gift and your leadership is what this writing is all about.

Remember, you were created to accomplish something that no one else can accomplish.  You were born to do something that the world will not be able to ignore.  Having said that, diligently seek your gifts, purpose, identity, potential and destiny!

You Can Avoid Ethical Pitfalls

It can be much more difficult to exercise character in leadership if you are in the wrong field, place or position in this life. If you have become frustrated and uncertain in your leadership you may say and do things that are not honest or forthright, for the purpose of protecting your position or keeping your insecurities from being exposed.  If you are motivated not by your inherent purpose, but by other impulses, have a desire for fame, money and other such things; then you will want to do whatever it takes to achieve those ends and character will take a backseat.

My wife Arlene and I watch a television program called "The Profit".  The program is based upon seeing potential in a business, upon the request of the owner/owners of the business.  Watching this program, I have observed that his key focus is on integrity and honesty in business.  These are Kingdom principles!  Speaking of integrity, King Solomon stated it this way:  "The righteous man walks in his integrity.  His children are blessed after him".  He also stated:  "The integrity of the upright will guide them.  But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them".

Now, the same principles apply to any arena of endeavor.  If you know you couldn't have good character while pursuing a certain goal or working in a certain field, then you should cease pursuing that goal or vocation and find your true purpose.  God will not give you a purpose that requires shady, unscrupulous behavior to accomplish.  Don't let Satan pervert your purpose.  God's purpose is always fulfilled in integrity and obedience to God's Word.  You should pursue something that you can do with honesty as well as with integrity.  Even when you are functioning according to your purpose, you still have to build and maintain your character.  You can avoid some of the ethical pitfalls that spring from wrong motivations, boredom or apathy and the fear that others will learn your weaknesses.

Remember, your strongest defense is God's Constitution (God's Word).

Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will by no means pass away.

A Word About Your Words

Words create.  Words frame your world. Words change the atmosphere.  Words build up and words tear down.  Take a moment and think about what your words are doing in your life.

We were created in God's Image.  Jesus made us 'joint heirs' with Him.  Through Him, we are sons of God, our Father.  God created our world with WORDS.  He spoke it into existence.  If you believe everything I have just said, why would you  not believe how powerful your words are!  "But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."  That power is a double-edged sword.  Our words can be for our benefit or for our downfall.  So much of our speech is nothing more than idle, negative chatter.

Recognize the creative and destructive power of your words in your life.  So often, we want to blame our situation in life on outside circumstances and the devil.  Examine your words honestly.  Change your words and, in time, your world will change.

Become aware of the words coming out of your mouth and their effect.  Are you speaking fear, anger, poverty, hate and other negativity into your atmosphere? Remember the "prince and power of the air" will take those negative words and "run with them", wreaking havoc in your life! (...in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience)

Today I want to encourage us all to watch our words.  They are the building blocks of our world.

“Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.

Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit. Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

You Are Internally Motivated

King Solomon, the wisest and richest man in the world of his day, once stated:  "A man's gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men".  Your unique gift will make room for you in this world, opening doors of opportunity, while drawing the assistance and resources you need to fulfill your purpose.

Perhaps you have been using your gift to some extent, but haven't really applied it with a sense of personal purpose.  Or maybe you have, but you have been burying your dream, settling for a lesser existence.  You may already be very accomplished in a  certain field but secretly wish that you were engaged in something else different with your life.  Am I speaking to you?

If you pursue your true purpose, you will be internally motivated to exercise  your inherent gift.  In contrast, if you do something you were not born to do, you will have to make an effort to perform it.  Maintaining your leadership position or your job will become a burden and a drain on you.

True leaders are always looking for more knowledge.  King Solomon stated it this way:  "The heart of the prudent acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge".

When someone is in the wrong place, they sometimes have to prop themselves up with a surplus of support individuals and resources.  But when they find the place for which they were born, their life begins to flow naturally.  They  no longer need to manufacture motivation because they can't wait to get started each day and initiate the next step that will bring them closer to seeing their purpose fulfilled.

Remember, it is the Word of God that will stand throughout all this chaos.  So make it your life, because it really is your life.

Where Do You Stand Concerning Your Purpose?

There are so many men and women who haven't discovered who they are as leaders.  Are you one of these men or women?  Allow me to share this with you: Leadership is not exercised simply by implementing techniques or methods, by using one's skills, or by exhibiting a particular management style.  It is the expression of a mindset resulting from the knowledge of who you were born to be.  This is why it is so important that you read and study God's Constitution.

We live our lives based on who we think we are and why we think we exist. Therefore, our leadership development to this point has been influenced by our sense of the significance of life and our relationship to it.  If you really want to be a great leader; follow King Jesus' actions and teachings.  You will soon discover everything He taught that He was.

Discovering your inherent purpose in this life should be a top priority.  How do you accomplish that?  Through speaking to the King on a daily basis, and always staying in the Word.  Read what Paul stated to the young Timothy:  Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.  Remember a true leader recognizes that he has a special purpose for being on this planet called earth. That purpose determines the area of leadership in which he is to serve.  Every person on this earth is meant to exercise leadership in a particular area of their gifts and talents.  When Paul stated to Timothy "be diligent", what he was actually saying was this:  Persevere, be careful and always be steady in your purpose and your service to the King.  Paul also reminded Timothy:  But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.  If you stay in God's Constitution (the Word), you won't have a mindset for idle chat or conversation, and then you can fulfill your purpose.
