What are we doing? There is a culture that is running rampant in the church that has the leaders trying to influence the youth and especially the young men to live a way other than the Word would have them to go. What I have seen, is leaders mimicking the world to draw them or to keep them in the church. Well, if you are trying to keep or draw young men and women to the Kingdom, you first must lift your standard of living to a level that they can see and observe a difference in your lifestyle. Our young people are starving for the truth in the Word of God, not for the religion you have to offer. Jesus focused on His Father's purpose which was His purpose; that was to restore the Kingdom of God back to the Earth. What I am hearing preached and taught is everything but the Kingdom. Why are we so disobedient? Jesus followed His Father's command to the letter. What I am finding is that pastors and leaders are afraid to preach, teach or even learn about the Kingdom. Jesus spoke and taught the Kingdom during His whole public ministry. In fact, that was the very first thing He taught when He came from the wilderness after fasting for forty days and nights.
From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, "Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand" (Matthew 4:17)
If you notice, Jesus told them to "repent", meaning turn around. We have been deceived by the enemy to preach and teach what Jesus DID, not what He told us to preach. Most of the preachers and teachers are afraid to preach the Kingdom because their denomination would expel--or fire--them from their position or organization; thereby losing their income. I understand that most churches pick their leaders according to how they want them to preach, and if he or she doesn't comply to their wishes, they are out on their butt. Usually it is the deacons or trustees who make that decision.
What God needs are men and women who will trust Him as their King. The King supplies all the needs for His citizens. God wants men who have backbones, not rubber. One of the main problems is most men don't have the Holy Spirit, and those who do, don't submit to His guidance. What is wrong with us? Jesus made it very clear. Seek His Kingdom first and all the other stuff will fall in line. We worry about stuff and things we should trust in Him for.
Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32) For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33) But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34) Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. (Matthew 6:31-34)
The king wants men that will listen to Him and obey the truth. What is truth? His Word is truth. Leaders should set examples in what they wear and how they present themselves to others. Remember, you have to represent the Kingdom, not your own agenda. You are an ambassador of the Kingdom of God. Take pride in being a representative of the Kingdom.
