To become a true man, a male must reconnect to God's original concept of manhood in creation. The only way for a man to discover and live out his inherent masculine nature is to maintain focus on his purpose rather than roles that are related to a certain culture or time in history. Purpose is the key to manhood.
What do we know of God's plan for the first man, Adam? First, God put him in the garden of Eden. He didn't allow the man to wander around in an attempt to find it. He also didn't leave Eden as an option, which means that "Eden" is a requirement of a male. God made the man and told him, "This is where you belong."
Now remember this, after placing him in Eden, God commanded the man to work. Now please take note: work was given to the man even before the woman was created. Work also came before the fall. Keep this in mind, work is not a part of the curse. We can cause it to be a curse if we make it an idol and become workaholics. Work itself is a gift from God. Please note: The man was instructed to take care of the garden.
The Hebrew word translated "take care" denotes guarding, watching over, preserving and protecting it.
