Another great mistake many individuals make is being busy, but not effective. Being busy is a common human pastime. But just because you are busy doesn't mean that what you are doing is worth doing or productive in the Kingdom.  Many people deceive themselves into believing that being busy all the time gives their lives significance.  That definitely is not always true.  Significance has nothing to do with being busy, but everything to do with effectiveness.  While King Jesus was on planet earth, He was the most effective individual who ever lived, but He was never too busy.  Every single thing that Jesus did had a purpose.  Everything He said and did had a purpose, and was effective in some way.  Jesus always obeyed His Father, the Word, and we are to do the same.  “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.  “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.  It is a tragedy to waste time and energy on things that are unfocused and non-productive.  Those resources, once expended, can never be regained.  We must learn how to be effective without being too busy.  King Solomon stated it correctly.  To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven

While King Jesus was here on earth, He made perfect use of His time, knowing that it was limited.  Keep in mind, we only have a certain amount of time to complete our purpose.  I should I say that you only have a certain amount of time.  Now it is personal.

Finally, the greatest failure in this life is being successful in the wrong assignment.  You see this every day if you take the time to read and observe.  Success alone isn't enough because you can be sincerely wrong.  Faithfulness alone is not enough, because you can be faithful to the wrong belief system as so many have.  Commitment alone isn't enough because you can be committed to the wrong cause, as so many are.  Succeeding in the wrong assignment is, therefore, failure.

The Lord God isn't impressed with your sincerity, faithfulness, commitment or even your success, unless you are pursuing the right assignment or purpose for YOUR life, His assignment.  Stay connected to Him.  Jesus made it very plain:

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.  “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

Abide in the vine, for anything else is failure.

I have learned that individuals who don't view God's Constitution from a Kingdom concept speak from a religious  mindset.  Religion separated the masses from seeing the Lord God's original purpose.  The greatest tragedy in life is not death, but life without knowing your purpose on this planet.  Many individuals in today's society are obsessed with finding ways to prolong their lives.  They are so caught up in trying to live longer that they never stop to consider why they are living at all.  The Lord God has already established our purpose in Jesus the Christ.  ...who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began  The ambassador Paul made this quite clear in his letters to Timothy.

People are drifting from one day to another without purpose, with untapped potential and unfulfilled dreams.  This is for many a fate worse than death.  The rising suicide rate in modern society bears this truth out.  Many individuals are drained of hope.  They take their own lives because they find death more appealing than continuing what is to them a meaningless existence.  This is because many fail to seek the Kingdom of God.  They have fallen into the trap of a religious  mindset instead of embracing the only message that Jesus came to restore (the Kingdom of God).  Jesus stated very plainly what one's priorities should be.  But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Finding our purpose in life is critically important.  The greatest challenge in life is knowing what to do.  You get up every day, and many of you go about your daily tasks or activities, and never give a thought to your purpose in life or what you are supposed to be doing.  Do you know what to do with your life?  What drives you to get out of bed every morning?  With each passing day you grow older and use up the time that God has given you.  You use up your energy on things that are temporal.  Do you even know what you want to do?  Now these are tough questions, but learning the answers is vital to your future.  The answers will cause you to live a more effective and productive life on this planet called earth.

The Lord God's representative made this very profound statement:  You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.

We will continue this in my next article.

One thing I know for certain, everyone is searching for a simple formula to be successful and have a fulfilled life.  They want to find the one key that will unlock the doors to the good life and answer the questions of their heart.  Unfortunately many have regarded the kingdom as an individual religious calling and seek to get others to come join their religion.  From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”  He made it quite clear that if they would stop seeking stuff and things and focus on seeking the kingdom first they would have all those things that they seek!  “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?  Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Now, if you were to conduct a poll in any large city in this country, and ask people "What is the key to life?" you would get several different kinds of answers.  Some would say that the key to life is to acquire as much  money as you can, as quickly as  you can and hold on to is as long as you can.  Others would see gaining political power and influence as the key to life.  Then there are always those who would say there is no key to life.  Life is an accident and therefore has no key or significance.  If you believe that, you had just as well do whatever you desire.

The fact is, most people do not know the key to living an effective life.  This is why so many individuals live such tragic lives, especially in the religious realm and the church really doesn't know why they are here.  They haven't a clue how to make their time on planet earth count for something worthwhile.  Their existence is, in many ways, a kind of "living death", because a life without knowing one's purpose is not really a life at all.

So then, what is the key to life?  Finding your true purpose and living it to the fullest.  I know that this word "purpose" has been overused in the past few years. Many think they understand it, but I want to say that this most essential component in life has never, and can never, be exhausted.

In my next articles I will sum up keys to understanding the difference between a purpose filled life and a life with no meaning.

In my last article I gave a synopsis of my foundation for living and who--not what--strengthens and encourages me.  It is God's Constitution, meaning the Word, which is life.  It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

Now allow me to share with you this piece of information.  Marriage is necessary to fulfill the Lord God's purpose, but it isn't necessary to fill the place the church and the world system has assigned it--to take two halves and make them whole.  To choose God instead of a spouse is still a higher calling, but don't choose the life of single-minded focus on the Lord Jesus unless you are positive that you can do it and that an unmarried lifestyle is His Will for your life.

Allow yourself to be filled with the teaching of the Kingdom (not religion).  Then the Holy Spirit will fill your life with His Presence.  But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.  If you choose an unmarried life out of religious pressure or some false spirituality or being "disappointed" in what you thought of as love--but really was lust; then you aren't giving God a whole single person.  You will be cheating Him and especially yourself.

If you know the unmarried life isn't for you, then begin to ask God to prepare you for marriage.  Being single doesn't mean you indulge in sexual relationships. That definitely is breaking the laws of the King, and you will definitely pay the price.   ...in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.  The ambassador Paul made it quite clear in God's Constitution.  Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.  Now, what was the ambassador Paul stating?  He was stating that those individuals who conduct themselves in that manner will not receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Kingdom of God will not reside in your mortal bodies.

In conclusion, if you aren't a whole (single) individual, ask the Lord God to assist you in becoming whole; not a "half person" or a leech and nonproductive.

For those of you who read my articles, I assured you that I don't write from a religious perspective but from a Kingdom perspective; meaning I have a Kingdom mind-set.  My foundation in this life is God's Constitution (the Word of God).  By the way, Jesus' only message was the Kingdom, not a new religion called Christianity.  From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”  And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.  Having said that, my view and understanding comes from a Kingdom mindset, and I am in great company.  This message of the Kingdom of God is so important that He even instructed His disciples what to say and do.   These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts, nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food. “Now whatever city or town you enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and stay there till you go out. And when you go into a household, greet it. If the household is worthy, let your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet. Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!

Again, may I press the importance of the Kingdom.  Even after His resurrection of His body, He stayed an additional forty days teaching the Gospel of the Kingdom.  The Lord God's Constitution doesn't record that He was speaking on financial prosperity or healing or on praise and worship, etc.  Jesus the King was teaching on the Kingdom of God.  until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen, to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.  Then King Jesus told them to wait on the Kingdom to come on and in them and then you will have the power to overcome.  John gave the outward illustration, but the Father will give you the real person.  And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”  But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

That is what it is to be Single and Whole (being filled with the Holy Spirit and nothing less).  Adam was filled with the presence of God before he had Eve. And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.  The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed.

The Effectiveness in Being Single Pt 3

Now the fifth gift of Adam was to cultivate. Adam's gift of cultivation meant that He could improve whatever he put his hands to.  Wherever Adam went and he did, things got better.  Is that the case with you?  Are you secured and self-assured enough in your own identity and with the Lord God that you can improve your environment wherever you are?  Before making a long-term commitment such as marriage, you need to consider this:  Are you a "weed" that will constantly choke off the relationship, or are you rich "fertilizer"  that will assist in cultivating and nurturing it?  King Jesus gave a great illustration of the sower:   “Therefore hear the parable of the sower: When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”  Jesus explained the parable of the sower and the seed.  Jesus was very careful to not cast pearl before swines.

The sixth gift was to protect.  God gave Adam the responsibility to protect and guard his environment and everything that was in it.  That meant that anything that was in Adam's presence was safe.  Can that be said about you?  Are people safe in your presence?  Do you safeguard their confidences, their trust, and their dignity, no matter what?  If you cannot be trusted to protect and honor the worth and parenthood of another person, you aren't ready for marriage.  It's just that simple.

Now the seventh was "God's Word".  Adam knew the Lord God's Word through a direct, face to face contact.  Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”  And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so.  He understood the principles under which the Kingdom of God were to operate, and exactly what God expected of him.  It is only in the context of knowledge and obedience to the Word of God that any relationship can maximize its potential.  My question to you is how well do you know the Lord God's Word?  How much time do you spend reading, studying and meditating on it?  That isn't a trick question.  Just as a potential spouse should find you in Eden, he or she should also find you a diligent student of the Word of God, applying it to your life effectively every day.  The knowledge of God's Word is essential to any truly successful and effective marriage.

Now when you are manifesting these seven gifts in your life, at least to some degree, and increasing in them; that is when God says to you, as He did to Adam, "It isn't good that you should be alone".

The Effectiveness In Being Single Pt 2

As I stated earlier, once you have established who you are in the Lord God, you will be able to take care of yourself using your own abilities, gifts and talents.  First we talked about the image of God.  Second, functioning like God.  Now allow us to move on to the third, His Presence.  In God's Constitution, King David was so secure in His Presence, that he made this statement: You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.  Before Adam ever had or even needed the presence of another human being, Adam enjoyed the Presence of the Lord God.  In the Garden of Eden, Adam was in the correct environment to be protected from pollution and corruption.  God gave Adam His own presence, thus establishing an eternal principle.  The first presence that you need in your life is not the presence of a boyfriend or a girlfriend, but the presence of the Lord god.  Use your unmarried years to get to Jesus Christ and how He obeyed the Lord God's every command.  Pray, read and study God's Word.  Welcome the ministry of the Holy Spirit in your life and become intimately familiar with God's Presence.  When a prospective spouse finds you, they should find you in Eden. Ultimately, the presence of the Lord God is all you ever need.  Remember, marriage is never appropriate until you are so complete within yourself and your relationship with god that you do not need marriage in order to define yourself.

The fourth is work.  God gave Adam meaningful work to do so that he could become fully himself and manifest his fullest potential.  The Greek word for "work" is eregon, literally means "to become".  When the Lord God placed Adam in the garden and charged him to dress it and keep it, He was telling Adam to "become" himself.  In other words, Adam was to manifest who he really was. God has the same purpose for you.  He wants you to become yourself and manifest who you really are.  He has hidden inside you a truly awesome person with an awesome dream and awesome vision, an awesome design and some awesome abilities.  Those qualities are in latent form, and you must work to bring them out.  Your first focus should be on becoming yourself, and not on finding or becoming someone else.

In all you do, seek the Kingdom of God and He will show you who you really are. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

I will continue tomorrow with part three.

The Effectiveness In Being Single Pt 1

As I stated in one of my previous articles, before you even think about involving your life with someone else, you first must be single (whole).  Now the seven gifts that Adam received from the Lord God is also our legacy as human beings because we are all descended from the first man, Adam.  That which was lost or distorted through Adam's disobedience was restored through the blood of Christ.  If you want to be an effective single, follow God's list:  First the Image.  God's first gift to us as humans is His image.  The first thing you  need is not to find someone else, but to find yourself.  You need first to be secure in your own self-image, and that is only found in the Lord God, nowhere else.  If you don't know who you are, or if you have a poor sense of self-worth, you have not yet tapped into the God-nature within you and will probably be a liability to anyone you marry.

To marry without a strong sense of self-worth and personal identity means that you will spend your life trying to become someone else, or usually by attaching yourself to your spouse's identity.  If your spouse also has an identity issue, then you have double trouble, and you may not be aware of it.  You need to know who you are and be secure and complete as well as being whole within yourself before you even think about getting married.  If you know who you are, if you have a good self-image, you won't need anyone in order to be someone.

Secondly, functioning like the Lord God.  God gave Adam a specific function and a way of operating.  He stated You know who you are, now here is how you work:  you function by speaking.  What you say will come to pass (or will happen):  Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Keep in mind, God designed us to function in such a way that what we speak into our lives determines in large measure our environment and circumstances.  What we say about ourselves and our situation influences our patterns of thought and belief, and thereby tends to become self-fulfilling prophecies.  Before you even consider entering a long-term relationship with someone, get our own tongue sorted out first.  Understand that whatever you speak regarding your personal circumstances, positive or negative, will become true in your life.  Learn to speak positive and confident truth about yourself before entering a long-term relationship.  It took a long time for me to learn this.  That is because I was caught up in a religious mindset.  If you know how you function, you won't have to depend on another individual's approval or other people's resources in order to make a living.  I will continue in my next article.

The Seven Gifts of Adam

When the Lord God created Adam, He gave him seven gifts that fulfilled his singleness and made him a complete individual.  The first was His image.  Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”  Today we hear a lot about "self-image" and how people have trouble feeling good about themselves.  Adam's self-image was the image of the Lord God.  In this context, the word "image" refers to the spirit nature and moral character.  By design, Adam was endowed with the God-like characteristics so that in his spiritual and moral nature he would be the "spitting image" of his Creator.

God's second gift was function.  Being made after God's likeness was to function like the Lord God.  How does the Lord God function?  He speaks and whatever He speaks comes to pass.  Within his own earthly realm, Adam had the same capacity.  His voice carried power and authority.  That which he spoke into his own life or domain came to be into existence.  And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field.

The third gift is presence.  Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.  "Eden" is a strange word, meaning variously "spot" "moment" "presence" or "open door to heaven". Adam's presence in the Garden of Eden meant that he was continually in the presence of the Lord God.

The Lord God's fourth gift was work.  Adam was placed in the Garden to cultivate it.  Work involves becoming (a process).

Adam's fifth gift was  cultivation.  To dress a garden means to cultivate it.  Part of his responsibilities in the garden was to improve his environment and to do it in such a way as to benefit every creature in it.

Adam's sixth gift was protection.  As steward and lord of his earthly domain, Adam was also its guardian.  The Lord God endowed him with the capacity to protect and defend those under his care, as well as to protect and defend the presence of God for their benefit.

And finally the seventh gift, He gave him His Word.  And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”  Adam knew who he was, and how he was supposed to function; where he was, what he was supposed to do, how to improve his environment and how to protect his environment.  On top of all of that, he knew the direct Word of God.  by any measure, this is the definition of a whole, fulfilled, well-balanced and well-adjusted individual.

The Difference Between Single & Unmarried

Adam was totally single in the Garden of Eden.  Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” God created the Earth for man to manage.  But first, man had to be a whole single individual.  God gave him spirit.   And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.  That is when he became a living soul.

There is a difference between being single and being unmarried (a big difference).  Most unmarried people consider themselves to be single.  Arlene and I are both single.  It is our singleness that makes our marriage successful.  The more single we become, the more our marriage improves.  Now before I write any further, ask the Lord God to open your understanding.  The average individual has never been single, even though they may be unmarried or divorced.  Unmarried means to be without a spouse (so does divorce, in the legal sense) but being single means to be all (alone); separate, unique, and independently a whole individual.  Many marriages fail because individuals get married before they are single.  They latch onto a spouse, identifying themselves with someone else before they come to terms with their own identity--Knowing who they really are in the Lord God's Kingdom.  They get married expecting marriage to make them whole (single).  In other words, lacking a personal sense of completeness, they look to marriage to make them a whole person.  Individuals who are truly single don't pursue marriage, they are whole and complete without it.  Unmarried people who aren't single (whole) can't wait to get married.  They think about it all the time, they dream about it talk about it, they are always running after somebody to marry them.  Those who don't want to get married, just want their sexual desires fulfilled through the lust of the flesh.  A truly single individual does not even have a desire for marriage.  Now Adam, who was the first human being was single, but was also unmarried.  In his single and whole state, he not only had no interest in marriage, he did not even know about marriage.  There was no laws concerning marriage, just obedience to God's Word.  As the Lord God had created him, Adam was complete and fulfilled within himself and his relationship with the Lord God.  He had no knowledge that he needed anybody else.  His whole fulfilled singleness was the foundation that God laid for the entire human race.  Singleness, therefore, is the fundamental building block for all human relationships.

I pray that the Lord God has opened your understanding to who you truly are.

The Gifts to Singles Pt 1

Once again, in order for you to understand this article, you must start at the beginning concerning this subject.  Singleness is the most important state of human development.  It is the foundation of God's design for the human family.  This is why singleness is so important to the Lord God.  It is a fundamental principle of His creative order for mankind. Traditionally,  most of us have been taught that marriage is the foundation and basic building block of our society, and that society is falling apart because marriages are falling apart.  Marriage, however is not the lowest common denominator of social human structure.  God didn't begin the human race with a couple.   Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”  God began the human race with one human being.  He made that one human being from the soil; the dust of the ground and afterward never returned to the soil to make another.

Now the first and most crucial step in the construction of any building is to lay a solid foundation.  This requires great care because the foundation must be able to bear the weight of the entire completed structure.  Any flaw or weakness in the foundation may cause the  building eventually to sink, crack or even collapse.

In the Lord God's program for creation, He finished everything before He began. He has the end product complete in His Will and Purpose before He brings the atom of it into being.  As He stated in His Constitution to His representative Isaiah:  Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure.  When God created the human family, He started with a single individual.   And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.  Adam was one individual, a single person who carried within him the seed for the entire human race.  The foundation of all humanity was in one body, not two.  At the very base of the human family structure lies a single unmarried being.

I trust that you are understanding this concept.  I will continue in my next article.  It is very important that you understand Single and Singleness.

Mankind and Individuals

God's Constitution on marriage is two wholes becoming one, which is much stronger than two halves becoming one.  Remember, the Lord God gave Adam His Spirit.   And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.  If our society is built on marriage, then what is marriage built on?  If it is built on one or two rotten eggs, you have a rotten omelet, as I stated earlier.  God created humanity and a world that began with an individual.  Marriage is important for the survival of humanity; however the Lord God built humanity on individuals. Those who are married should realize that the only thing that binds them together is a covenant.  You are the same old you, and your spouse is the same individual he or she was before you married them.  Remember, the marriage contract or covenant, is only as good as your word (your promise to keep it).

Now without the Holy Spirit, it is almost impossible to have a successful and happy marriage.  he provides the power to enable you to keep your vows.  The world has a saying,  "promises are made to be broken".  Maybe that is the problem with those who claim to be Believers in God's principles but conduct their lives totally differently from God's Word.  God designed everything in the Kingdom around the individual, beginning with salvation.  He never saves groups, only individuals.  I remember Evangelist Billy Graham while he was in one of his London crusades, where it was reported that about a million people made commitments to Jesus Christ.  However, God didn't scoop up those million people in a great big Holy Spirit shovel and dump them in an ocean of the blood of Jesus.  No, each one sat in a single seat, heard the Word as individuals and the Holy Spirit came to each of them and saved them individually as he received Christ.  Each got out of his or her own seat, personally and walked to the front to confess Jesus as Lord of their lives.

Keep in mind, they stood together in large groups but that mass was made up of individuals, all making individual choices.  That is the way the Lord God works.  Even when the disciples were baptized in the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost.  When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.  And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language.

Remember this, each of us has to answer to the King on the day of Judgement as individuals.

Singleness, It is the Joy of the Lord

After reading several of my articles, I am sure you understand what is meant by singleness.  Being unmarried isn't a curse, and singleness is the first blessing of man.  A person in a state of being single is a joy to the Lord.  When the Lord God can deal with an individual who is whole and unique, He can get more done.

I truly believe that is why God created Adam first.  He wanted an individual, a single-minded person, who would be filled with His presence.  I believe individuals, like Paul the ambassador of the Kingdom, who find such fulfillment in being unmarried in the Lord, are a special joy to the Lord God.  He has a special feeling for those who are satisfied and fulfilled with Him alone.  He can do more through them.

Now, having stated that, this state of being unmarried has to be a choice a total dedication of yourself, to the Lord God.  It isn't blessed if it is forced on you by others, even by religious institutions.  In other words, I am not saying that everyone should become a monk or a nun.  That is about becoming religious. The Kingdom ambassador spoke concerning such things, including "forbidding to marry".  Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

Arlene and I don't regret getting married, however there are things we can't do for God now that we could have done as unmarried workers.  However, marriage is wonderful, but it isn't necessary for everyone's personal fulfillment.  The ambassador Paul wrote again to the Corinthians that if you were to marry, you weren't being disobedient (sin). But I want you to be without care. He who is unmarried cares for the things of the Lord—how he may please the Lord. But he who is married cares about the things of the world—how he may please his wife. There is a difference between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman cares about the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But she who is married cares about the things of the world—how she may please her husband. And this I say for your own profit, not that I may put a leash on you, but for what is proper, and that you may serve the Lord without distraction.

Keep in mind, unmarried Believers should be consumed by the Lord God and His Will.  They are to be so preoccupied and committed to finding out who they are in Him that they aren't distracted by the search for other people.  You can spend so much time looking for who you want that you have no time to be who you are.

Singleness is a joy and marriage is a joy; but all the time I am married, I don't ever want to stop being a single--a whole person.

A Disease Called Loneliness

5/18/2015

Picture
King Solomon made this statement in God's Constitution:  A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.  In essence, if you are lonely, it is because you aren't a friendly individual.  If you are lonely, you are "sick" because God created man to be whole in his aloneness, not a  lonely person, not a person yearning for someone else to make him or her whole.  You find many individuals who state they are looking for someone to complete them. My advice, (Run).  If you are lonely, find someone else who is alone (not half empty) and make friends.  By the way, it won't be easy.  Begin to reach out to others who are unmarried like yourself.  There are people by the hundreds in churches who stand in the congregations across this country who lift their hands to praise and worship, but stand in loneliness and go home lonely.

Now, loneliness is a sickness that comes from  not understanding who you are and from being afraid or too proud to make close friends.  A person whose "walls" are whole and intact can feel safe in opening doors to others for companionship.  You can tell whether you are a whole individual by how well you keep company with yourself.  Some people are afraid to be alone.  They always want other people around them because they don't like themselves, or they are so empty that they have to live their lives through others.  Sad, but true.  When these individuals are home alone, they have the radio or television on or are watching a video or perhaps reading.  This is because their emptiness must be filled with something or somebody outside themselves.  On the other hand, an attitude of isolation and of being a "hermit" is a  sign of a different kind of sickness.  Both extremes are evidence of a person who is not yet whole and unique, not yet really single.  A happily married man or woman is still single (whole and unique).  The problem is we are born empty and some of the junk with which we have filled ourselves should not be in there.  This is why I constantly state "many of us have to be detoxed first from those religious concepts, before we can embrace the Kingdom concept".  It is going to take a transformed mind.  And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

No one was born to be married; however, everyone was born not to be alone. There is no special anointing that comes with being in a marriage.  Every human being is a "help-meet" for every other human being.  Remember this, in the Kingdom of God, there are laws and principles that must be obeyed if we are to be in good standing with the King.  There are no exceptions.

One Hundred Percent

My question to you is this:  In what percentage are you operating in your marriage?  We have been taught that marriage is a 50-50 proposition, which is a doctrine from the pit of hell.  If you view marriage in that light, it is no wonder when you have a problem in your marriage.  My wife Arlene and I operate and function at 100% in every facet of our marriage and our lives.  We share everything and I mean everything.  We realize oneness and togetherness is very important in order for us to be effective in this life.  If marriage is 50-50, each individual is only half a person.  Marriage is like an omelet made from two good whole eggs, not two half eggs.  Remember King Jesus prayed to the Father that His disciples would become one.  Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are.  Then He prayed for us in the future that we would become one (meaning 100% complete).   “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.  And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one"  This only happens through the Holy Spirit and embracing a Kingdom concept (not a religious concept)  If you have a 50-50 marriage, then you have two individuals, each half-whole.  Then we have a problem.  They spend the rest of their lives together trying to steal from each other what is needed for wholeness, uniqueness, personality; things that make the other special.

In other words, in that kind of marriage, one or both partners are empty. Remember, Adam was totally whole and complete. Eve was totally whole and complete.  When the Lord God stated that Eve was suitable for Adam, He meant she was fit or adapted to him.  She was his equal.  In most marriages today, both parties spend years trying to change the other into a clone of themselves or to fit the image they have in their minds of what a husband or wife should be.  I am quite aware of this, because I have been there and done that in my past life.  Now I can state that I am one hundred percent me.  My wife Arlene is one hundred percent herself.  We are both filled with the Spirit of the King (the Holy Spirit).  I don't need her to make me whole and she does not need me to make her whole.

When Arlene and I met, she was ready to assist me, because I had a purpose and a vision.  Now we are growing in our vision and our purpose.  May the Lord God bring into your spirit the Knowledge that all you need to stop being alone is another human being, not a husband or wife.

Keep in mind, Arlene and I both have been married and divorced and remarried. But, keep in mind, the Lord God changes people's lives and puts them together again.  We are a living testament of His restoration.  So be encouraged.

Two Good Eggs

It is very important that you choose a partner that is a good assistant.  I'm speaking now to the men of the family. But first the men must know their purpose, so their wives can assist them in it.  Consider yourselves as two eggs.  Whether you understand what I am about to say or not, this is a fact:  An omelet is only as good as the eggs that are in it.  If there is one rotten egg, it will spoil the whole omelet.  How good the other egg is won't make any difference.  You will not be able to separate the omelet into their original state again.  However, I will not carry that analogy too far.  The Lord God can change a "rotten egg" into a good one and reconstruct the omelet (meaning marriage).  He is the only One that can accomplish that.

In God's Constitution it states:  Whoever has no rule over his own spirit is like a city broken down, without walls.  Now to bring that principle into modern terms, allow me to paraphrase it.  "He who does not have full control of himself (or herself) is like an open city for anyone to take and rule over".  This is another reason it is so important to read and study the Word of the living God.  It will give you a solid foundation to live an effective life.  I will state this as well:  "Anyone who does not know who they are will become fair game for someone else to mold into another image".  King Jesus taught this in Matthew 13:3-9:  He began to share the parable of sowing seeds into different kinds of ground.  The disciples really didn't understand, so after the meeting they asked Him to explain.  Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: “Behold, a sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them. Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth. But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them. But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

He spoke about the four kinds of "soil" but I want to draw your attention to one of them: that of the stony ground.  In Matthew 13:21, Jesus stated that the reason people with that kind of heart cannot stand when persecution comes is because they have no roots in them.  yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.  The root of any plant is its source of nutrients, the source of strength, the source of the shape that the plant takes and the fruit it bears.  Jesus was saying that those individuals without enough of the Word in them, those people who are not separate, whole and unique because of being founded on Him, have no roots in themselves.

Churches today are filled with people dying in the midst of life.  Individuals who have no roots.  On the other extreme, people who are so full of pride and self-importance that other people's reactions to them do not count, have just as many broken walls under all that facade.

Keep in mind, you are what you "eat".  What do you feed on?

Loving Yourself Pt 2

5/15/2015

Picture
Remember, being single should always be your number one priority, before you even think about getting married.  Before you can love anyone else, learn to love yourself, but not in a selfish manner.  Loving your neighbor will be a challenge for you if you don't have it in your heart or mind.  Most of the time, we project the blame onto them.  We gossip, judge, criticize, and all the time we are really thinking poorly of ourselves.  You have to think that you are better than the other person in order to judge them.  Thinking that you are better is not loving yourself, in fact, most of the time, it is covering up your hate.

Believe me when I share this with you.  I know it is tough being unmarried in a world designed for couples.  Before I met Arlene, I used to eat in restaurants alone all across this country.  It was a choice that I made.  Now I have a great wife, with a great mindset, with a very productive conversation and I don't mind spending money on her, because she and I are one.

Keep in mind, being conformed by the pressure of this world, to its image will definitely make you unhappy.  It is better to walk alone in an alien society than to be miserable with someone else just out of conformity to this world's standards.  The question arises from time to time, why didn't Jesus get married?  Because He had a purpose and He definitely was a complete person.  He didn't come here to start a family.  That was not His purpose.  He had a family.  " I and My Father are one.”

I must state this:  It is a great situation to have a wife and know that you are assuredly one. Like spirits attract.  People who have a Kingdom mindset, who have vision, goals and purpose attract each other.  A whole individual is a person who knows who they are, knows why they are at a certain place, knows where they are going and how they are going to get there.

Jesus made this statement:  So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself'."  What King Jesus was stating was this:  the key is loving yourself, not other people.  You can only love people to the extent that you accept and love yourself.

Loving Yourself

5/14/2015

Picture
Before you go any further, you must first understand yourself.  Before you love others, you must first love yourself.  I am not speaking about self-centeredness, self-love, pride or selfishness.  I am speaking about finding out who you are in Christ, and as a person(individual) and then coming to terms with that individual.  Knowing who you are is the first step toward becoming whole.  Accepting that person is the second step.

What I have learned in all my years as an adult, and through marriage and divorce, and marriage again, is this:  If you  need to get married to be fulfilled or loved, you are not ready for marriage.  The very thing that makes you need to get married will become the problem in the marriage.  By the way, experience isn't the best teacher;  being obedient is.

In God's Constitution (the Bible), King Jesus told the people to love their neighbors as themselves.  Notice He didn't say "if you feel like it".  ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’  You cannot love your neighbor if you are having problems loving yourself.  That is the problem with our society and churches today.  People aren't "real", they "fake one another out" with false hugs and kisses in church.  They appear to be loving to one another, but really hate themselves.  Here is an example:  "God bless you!"  Be blessed!"  "I love you".  They give you a smile, but show no teeth.  The very next time someone says to you "I love you", try replying back to them "But do you love yourself?"

Keep in mind, it isn't important whether you say you love me.  This isn't going to work until you begin to love yourself, because if you do not love you, you are going to be looking toward me to make that happen in your life.  You are going to expect from me more than I can possibly give; and also to make up for what you lack in yourself.

Now the Word of God is so simple and we seem to make it so confusing.  We get so busy trying to love our neighbors that we have no time to love ourselves. Then we get disappointed in ourselves and add to self-rejection when we find we cannot love them.

My wife Arlene and I are so much in love ourselves, that we are thinking on the kingdom level, but it has been a process. I will continue this conversation tomorrow.

The Kingdom Citizen's Goal

5/13/2015

Picture
A Kingdom citizen should always consider who they are in line with the Lord God's Word.  The goal of a Believer is to become the separate, unique and whole person that God wants them to become; the vessel that will hold the Treasure, which is the Holy Spirit.  But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.  Now our goal, according to the ambassador Paul is to be "conformed to His image". For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. He was the most unique, separate and whole individual who ever lived.  Remember, whether you are aware of your goal, whether you are working toward it, or whether you are not, that still is the goal set before you.

We cannot rightly carry out the Great Commission,  And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” or be perfected to do the work of the Kingdom ministry for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, without first becoming uniquely single, separate and whole.

By the way, the word "ministry" is not a religious term, but a government word. Unless we have first achieved, or at least are working toward achieving, the goal of becoming a whole and unique child of the living God, we can't be conformed to the image of Christ.  Therefore, we as Kingdom citizens should be striving to be single.  However, if you have gotten married on the way to this goal, do not stop seeking the goal.  Marriage will simply show how "unsingle" you really are.

Before I met my wife Arlene, I discovered that many men and women are so busy looking for someone to be all things to them that they do not have time to be who they really are.  Many individuals on those dating sites just wanted their lustful appetites fulfilled.  Keep in mind, if you are too preoccupied looking for someone to be all things to you, you have nothing to give or offer them.  I have a news flash for you:  you have a problem in the works because no one can give you enough time or attention to make up for the emptiness within that only God can fill.

Adam was so consumed with enjoying life in the Garden of Eden, fulfilling his purpose, that he didn't look around for anyone else.  God had to interrupt him and put him to sleep in order to make another person like him to present to him. Your marriage will only be as successful as your singleness, because you can only bring to a marriage what you are as a person alone.

Marriage is honorable in itself.  It is what we bring into it that causes the trouble.

Please note: You are only fit, or ready, for marriage when you are totally fulfilled in the Lord God.

You Must Be Single

5/12/2015

I want to share with you a quote from a man that has definitely had an impact in my life.  "Singleness is a state to be pursued, not avoided.  To be single should be the goal of every married person".  Dr. Myles Munroe

Do you catch hold of this revelation of the difference between being single and being alone?  I spoke on this in one of my earlier articles.  When you do, you will never again despise the state of being unmarried.  Also, you will not marry or encourage others to marry, based on wrong reasons.

The church today is suffering from confusion among young and old, divorced and widowed, and those who are unhappily married, because of the misunderstanding the concept of singleness.  Many pastors and congregations pressure our young people in their churches to stop being alone, when the individuals have not yet achieved the state of being single!  The result is more unhappy marriages and more divorces.  I use this phrase "our young people" because we as elders should direct the young adults as well as our teenagers in the right direction. Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

The primary thing that we need to understand from God's Constitution, is that when God observed that it wasn't good for Adam to be alone, Adam was totally whole (Eve was taken out of him).  He was totally unique and totally separate. He (meaning Adam) was unaware that he needed anyone else.  Believe me when I state this: until you get to that state, you are not ready to stop being alone.  And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.  That breath of life was the Spirit of God.  In essence, it isn't good for a man to be alone if he is single.  That means, you do not need to marry anyone until you are truly a single individual.  You are better off alone, if you have not yet arrived at being single--unique, separate and whole.

If you are unaware who you are yet, what are you going to give to someone else? If you do not know how much of a single individual you are yet, how much are you going to give to someone else?  The most dangerous thing in the area of marriage is for a sick individual to marry another sick individual.  Therefore, it is more important to be "single" than to be married.  I will even make a stronger statement:  It is a much "safer" to be unmarried than married if you are not yet single.  Please note:  some individuals believe that when they get married, they have solved their problem of being alone.  However, some of the loneliest people in this world are in marriages.

I trust, now you understand what it is to be truly single.

Proverbs 22:6   Genesis 2:7
