What does it mean in your life "to live a life that is above reproach"? It means that your life is an open book... no secrets, no lies. At work, you don't look over your shoulder for the boss to come by and catch you doing things you shouldn't be doing or NOT doing what you should be doing. In relationships, it means not lying. Juggling lies and deceptions and trying to remember what you said to which person can be exhausting. The truth is ultimately so much easier.
If you are married, it means your spouse has free access to your cell phone, facebook and computer. Don't gasp! When you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear.... THAT is freedom and peace of mind. If your spouse shows up at work, there will be no co-worker that you don't want them to see. You don't go shopping and run home to hide what you bought from your spouse. You are an open book, living above reproach and you have nothing to hide!
If you don't break the law, you won't fear being caught by the police. If you don't speed, you don't need a radar detector.
Galatians 5:1 says "It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery."
When we are saved, Christ sets us free. It is our actions, our sins, our lies that put us back into slavery. We put the chains of slavery back on of our own free will.
Live a life that is above reproach and be free! Nothing to hide, nothing to fear! That's freedom to me.... be blessed
