Why do we have such an aversion to silence? What so disturbs us in the quiet times? Why do some never want to be alone, disconnected from the world and quiet? Even when praying, they are never silent...
God speaks in the quiet times. He will not yell above the constant noise and chaos of our lives. If Satan can keep the volume turned up, if he can keep us busy and distracted; we will not hear what God has to say!
I remember times in church services, when we would be silent. When there was no music, no preaching, no prayers.. just a few moments of reverent silence. Those times still stay with me because there would be such a powerful move of God. The presence of the Holy Spirit was so strong in those moments. Then, the silence would be broken with weeping, repentance and praise.
This blog isn't long. I just want to encourage you to silently meditate on God. Turn off all the electronic devices... pull the ear buds out...even turn off your cell phone....be still... and KNOW that He is God.... and listen to what He has to say to you. It may be more important to your future than that last endless phone conversation you had.
Be blessed! Arlene
