God brings conviction. Conviction draws us TO God. Conviction is the door God places in that wall of guilt to bring you back into fellowship with Him.
And when He comes, He will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment. John 16:8
We ask God's forgiveness and we repent--turn around and go the other way. We turn our back on the sin that so easily ensnares us and we move forward with Him by reading His Word and striving to obey.
If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that His word has no place in our hearts. 1 John 1:8-10
When you love someone, you want to be close to them. When I am with my husband, I don't want anything between us, not even space! My husband always jokes with me about that because he knows it is true! We touch, hold hands, talk, always feeling connected. Because of that, we know each other well... we know our thoughts before we speak it. We know just by a look or a gesture what the other is thinking. That's how God wants us to be with Him.. always connected with no space between us. Only then will we truly know Him.
When you sin, test your emotions...do you feel distant from God or drawn to him? If you are feeling guilt, command it to leave you in Jesus' name. Guilt is NOT from God! Never give a place in your heart and mind to anything that you know is not from God.
Strive to never let any space get between you and God. Only then will you know Him intimately.
