When I was that little girl sitting on the step--up in Back Bay, New Brunswick, Canada--with my cousin, Susan, my parents loved me and were happy and proud of me when I learned to walk and when I was potty trained. Big moments in a child's life! I am certain my parents proudly told their friends and family of my "accomplishments". In my adult life, I'm sure my parents were still glad I walked and was potty trained, but it was no longer something they bragged about! They wanted me to grow, learn, mature, become more educated, become a productive member of society and become a wife and mother and train up our next generation.
Just like our earthly parents, God loves us. He loves us before we are saved, loves when we accept the gift of salvation from Him. He loves us right where we are. Likewise, as our Heavenly Father, He wants to see us grow, mature in the Kingdom, kill that carnal man within us, become more like Him, fulfill our destiny and train up the next generation in the Kingdom.
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
~~ I Corinthians 13:11
It is time for God's people to grow up. There is too much at stake. You have a unique, divine purpose and destiny that is waiting to be fulfilled. Who is out there, needing to see how you live your life and what you have to say before they get the revelation of God's salvation and blessings of Kingdom living? Who hangs in the balance while you continue to live the life of a carnal Christian? There are far too many examples of "Christians" living the low life of a carnal Christian. The world doesn't need to see more of that. There are far too many high-profile Christian leaders living carnal lives and preaching--with their words and lifestyles--a twisted Gospel. God is not pleased. God gave them a platform, they have prostituted and abused it. You do not need to be famous to change lives. You just have to grow up, study God's Kingdom Constitution (the Bible) and walk His principles out before a lost and deceived world.
For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. 13) For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. ~~ Hebrews 5:12-13
There is far too much at stake to stay where you are. I want to encourage you to "face your demons", stop feeding your flesh (lust is NEVER satisfied), renew your mind and focus on the path God has set before you. Never stop learning and maturing. When we stop growing we stagnate and die. You--yes YOU--have a job to do and a destiny to fulfill that was ordained before you were born.
Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.” 34) Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame. ~~ I Corinthians 15:33-34
What you do matters. You might never be famous,
but you might change the world.
Beloved,I do not consider that I have made it my own; but this one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14) I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus. 15) Let those of us then who are mature be of the same mind; and if you think differently about anything, this too God will reveal to you.
~~ Philippians 3:13-15 NLT
Be blessed in your pursuit of God's purpose for your life~~ Arlene
