Dreamers and drivers need each other. It is a symbiotic relationship. But by their very nature, they can irritate each other. Often, because the dreamer sees the BIG picture--the final result--they don't understand all the tediousness of the driver's attention to detail. They may even view them as negative people. Dreamers may want to say "Don't bother me with details!" On the other hand, the driver, who sees all the minute details and all the work that is needed to fulfill the vision, is irritated by the dreamer's appearance of not working or focusing on the task at hand.
In reality, they need each other. We may have a little dreamer AND driver in us, but one will be dominant. If you have a dream and think you don't need anyone to help fulfill that dream, you aren't dreaming big enough! God has something bigger for you--and He has others to help fulfill it. In Habakkuk 2:2 (one of my favorite verses), God says,
“Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it."
Why else would we need to write the vision down, except for others to read and join with us to fulfill that vision?!
Yes, we need each other. We need the very things in that person that irritates us. Those very traits we don't have in us are needed to fulfill the vision that is greater than any single person. We are puzzle pieces with jagged edges, but when placed side by side, we fit to create a beautiful picture that is not seen in one piece. Let's work to see those who are so different--and irritating--from us as the missing pieces to our "vision puzzle". Together we will fulfill a great purpose God has placed within a dreamer! Now let's drive!
Be blessed...Arlene (a driver)
