The Seeds of Leadership

We were meant to lead and rule. ...And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.” Remember, when the Lord God created us, He gave us everything we needed to fulfill His original plan and purpose. Because God designed us to lead, the seeds of leadership lie within us. They will lie dormant until they are ready to be activated by the power of the Lord God. For this reason, leadership isn't something we should have to study as much as something that is already inside of us. It is a matter of discovering and nurturing those powers of leadership within us.
Now, within the earthly realm, God has given us great freedom. Ultimately, the kind of leaders that we become and the degree of dominion we exercise depends on us. Although, I must state, the Lord God might make it very uncomfortable for us until we turn toward Him. Please note: the Holy Spirit will never force you. But as we allow Him, the Holy Spirit will convict us, guide us, and lead us; but He will never drive us. As our Creator, God knows what is inside each one of us because He put it there. Whenever the Lord speaks to you, He addresses you, based on what He knows about you, not on what other people think they know about you.

Thoughtful Questions:
- What or when do you lead? is it generally easy for you to lead, or is it difficult? Are there certain areas where it is more difficult than others? Why?
- As you consider the seeds of leadership that have been placed within you by God, trace those seeds through your life, developing a timeline. How has your leadership been developed? How do you think the Lord will continue to school you in the ways of leadership in the immediate future?
- God's Kingdom is full of leaders. Do you think many leaders in a Kingdom can bring chaos? Are there any followers? How can Kingdom business flow with a Kingdom full of leaders?
Some of you may question this concept, as I once did, of the leadership potential within you. Maybe you consider yourself to be a follower and not a leader. Maybe you think you don't have the skills, qualities, abilities or even the experience to be a leader. Perhaps you have accepted the negative things others have said about you. In truth, it doesn't matter what other individuals say or think or even what we think of ourselves. What matters is how the Lord God sees us, and He sees us as leaders and rulers in the earthly domain. He created us for this purpose and designed us with the necessary abilities to fulfill our destiny.
Let's make it personal: Do you feel like a leader? Are there areas in your life where you would rather be a follower? What makes you want to take a back seat when God is asking you to lead forward?
