Your Philosophy Determines Your Thoughts
Let us first look at the word philosophy: It is, 1. the most basic beliefs, concepts and attitudes of an individual or group; 2. calmness of temper and judgment befitting a philosopher; and 3. the pursuit of wisdom. How and what you think if vital to having a Kingdom mindset. The information that you take into your mind is equally important. This is why I stress to stay in His Constitution at all times and make it your foundation. Ambassador Paul, while speaking to the Philippians made this statement: And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
It is very important to guard what we watch and listen to on the media. They are full of distractions and not in line with God’s Word. For this reason, we should consistently read, study and meditate on His Word. It is the very source of life. In addition, there are many religious leaders and individuals who give their own opinion concerning the Lord God’s Constitution. This is why it is vital to have the Holy Spirit’s guidance. “If you love me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you. No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you.”
Having the Holy Spirit (our Governor) in you and with you forever is the key to your citizenship. Notice He stated, “If you love Me, keep my commandments.” Again, love is an action! The Word of God will transform your thinking into a Kingdom mindset. By the way, it is a process and it all depends on you and your love for His Word. Ambassador Paul made this statement while speaking to the Roman citizens: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. NKJV
Ambassador John wrote: Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. In other words, you can’t love the King and His Word and the world at the same time. Many are deceived by Satan into thinking that they can do so. Ambassador John goes on to say, For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. NKJV
That is one of the main reasons so many religious leaders are being defeated in their walk with Christ. Keep in mind, this world as you know it is passing away. Ambassador Paul said it, John said it and the King said it! Those who use the things of the world should not become attached to them. For this world as we know it will soon pass away… And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever… Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. NKJV
How and what you think is very important to receiving the Holy Spirit. Keep in mind, your philosophy determines the way you think. In fact, you live out thoughts and manifest them in your attitudes toward yourself and others. In fact, you cannot live beyond your thoughts and convictions. That is why your opinion should never be given when it comes to the Word of God. Ambassador Paul wrote: Dear brothers and sisters, I have used Apollos and myself to illustrate what I’ve been saying. If you pay attention to what I have quoted from the Scriptures, you won’t be proud of one of your leaders at the expense of another.
Always embrace the Word of the King as the final authority in your life. Without it, you have no firm foundation and you will crumble under the weight of the world. Again, remember, your faith in the Word of the living God is your greatest asset in the Kingdom of God.
