Your Faith in the King and His Word
There are many believers that put more faith in man--their pastor, church or TV minister--than in their King Jesus and His Word. When trouble comes, they turn to man, not King Jesus. I have hear many times, "All we can do is pray." That should have been the first response, not the last response out of desperation! Their faith is in man. They would never miss a church service, they are there every time the doors are open, but they fail to put their trust in the Holy Spirit, the Governor. Why is this? They don't know what the Holy Spirit is, or what He sounds like? Or because they don't have Him living in their mortal body? Our Lord and King made it perfectly clear that when He was to leave earth He wouldn't leave us alone as orphans. He also made it clear that if you really loved Him and His laws He would speak to His Father concerning another counselor who would live in us and be with us for eternity. “If you love me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive Him, because it isn’t looking for Him and doesn’t recognize Him. But you know Him, because He lives with you now and later will be in you. No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you." The Kingdom Governor--Holy Spirit--guides and leads us if we are obedient enough to allow Him. The Holy Spirit isn't an "it", but a He and He isn't a "ghost"!
Our focus should be on faith in Him as King and His commands. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need. We as citizens of His Kingdom should never be full of anxiety but full of faith in His Word. When we are full of faith, there is no room for fear and anxiety. Your faith in the King and His Word will protect you from all harm and anxiety. Ambassador Paul describes it as part of a Roman soldier's armor. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. By the way, the attacks that we as Kingdom citizens are confronted with are from the enemy, meaning the devil and his demonic forces. It is a spiritual attack on all those who embrace the Kingdom message. That is why ambassador Paul relates to a Roman's armor in this passage: Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Gospel so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Notice He never once told us to fight. It's not our responsibility to march and protest in the streets of this world, but to use the tools that are given to us, such as the Word of the living God. This is why it is so important that we should constantly stay in His Word. Did you notice that the Word of the living God is described as the sword of the Spirit? Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
If you want to defeat anxiety and fear in your life, trust and believe in His Word. How do we increase our faith and trust in His Word? Read and study God's Word, hide it in your mind and heart and listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Religious people protest and march for their religious beliefs, but Kingdom citizens stand on His Holy Word. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. We don't need to fight the world. We need to pray and trust the Lord to move on our behalf.
Wherever we go, we are to represent the King and His Kingdom. Read what ambassador Paul said while addressing the believers at Philippi: Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Gospel about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Gospel. Don’t be intimidated in any way by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to be destroyed, but that you are going to be saved, even by God himself. Remember ambassador Paul described it as warfare, but the Lord Jesus never told us to fight and take action, because our weapons aren't carnal, but Spiritual. Most Christians are secular or carnal in nature. Ambassador Paul made this statement while speaking to those at the city of Corinth: And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men? For when one says, “I am of Paul,” and another, “I am of Apollos,” are you not carnal? NKJV When you have your trust and belief in the commands of the King, there is no room for carnality or anxiety in your life.
If you truly believe, why is your life filled with fear and doubt? "And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.”
Remember, your faith in the King and His Word is your greatest asset in the Kingdom.
