I put on notice, that the Kingdom of God has come to the earth in which we now reside. Let all who will, repent and enter in. This is the Gospel that Jesus preached and commissioned His followers to preach. Somewhere along the way, the church lost its focus. Rarely in the days in which we now live, will we hear the message of the kingdom being preached in our pulpits. We preach about many other issues, but rarely at all on the Kingdom. We preach about prosperity, faith, gifts, ministries and other secondary issues (which may be attributes of the kingdom), but we don't preach the kingdom message. Many churches have programs to help fund their church in place of the Kingdom message.
Focus Point: One of Satan's primary strategies is to sidetrack us. His most effective strategy is to preoccupy us with secondary things rather than the primary thing. He--meaning the devil--knows better than to try to get us to do things that are blatantly wrong or outright evil. Instead, he turns our focus onto things that, although important, are not what the Lord has told us to focus on.
For example, I have on several occasions gone to the store to purchase bananas for my wife, Arlene. If I were to purchase another fruit, such as the plantain or some delicious red cherries or even some apples, I think we would have an issue concerning the fruit I brought back with me from the store. Even though the apples, cherries and plantains are fruit, that isn't what she told me to get.
Focus Point: Remember, two thousand years ago, Jesus was very clear in the assignment he gave to the Church. He left nothing to uncertainty or misinterpretation. He specified what we were to preach and teach.
Constitutional Scriptures:
Matthew 28:19-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20) teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Mark 16:15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature."
Matthew 24:14 And this Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
Focus Point: Keep in mind, the New Testament proclaims all kings of "good news". The good news that Jesus preached, and that we should preach, is that the Kingdom of God has come to earth and through Jesus, we can all become part of it.
Focus Point: The cross of Christ is the beginning point of life in the Kingdom of God, not the ending point. There is no ending point, because life in the kingdom has no end.
