Matthew 5:16:
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
The believer does not have inherent light, rather we have reflective light. As we behold the glory of the Lord, we reflect it. Therefore we need to be sure that nothing comes between us and the Lord's light. As the moon reflects the sun, so we reflect the Son.
Our focus as Kingdom Citizens is to seek out His direction for our lives... to please Him at all cost...to live our lives in such a way that men, women, boys and girls, want to know what or who causes our lives to become so different in a productive and honoring way. As we seek out the Kingdom of God,we will experience good and bad times in this life. But keep this thought in mind: Crisis comes to make us stronger and to assist us in getting to know the Lord in a deeper productive way. During this process you will be changing or I should say the Spirit will be transforming our lives from glory to glory.
II Corinthians 3:18:
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
All believers behold the glory of the Lord in the scripture but not all are transformed into the image of God. Christ is the image of God, glory to glory.. an ever-growing glory. As believers behold the glory of God in the Word, the Spirit of God transforms them into the likeness of Jesus the Christ. This is a description of the gradual process of sanctification.
To sanctify (Hebrew word gadhash) appears frequently in the Bible. To be sanctified is simply to be set apart from the world and consecrated to God. To sanctify anything is to declare that it belongs to God. It may refer to persons, places, days, seasons and objects used for worship. Sanctification doesn't come in a moment, it is a process. We daily consecrate ourselves to God and His purpose for our lives.
Keep in mind, as Kingdom Citizens we should always be on our guard in what we see, in what we hear, and in our associations with others whether they are believers or not. For there are some who are believers in name only, but their character is far from it.
II Corinthians 4:3-4
But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
