Now another important truth about marriage is that the Lord God established it as the first and most fundamental element of human society. While the family is the basic foundation of any healthy society, marriage is the foundation of the family. Marriage is a foundational institution that predates all other institutions. Before there were notions of governments, before there were churches, schools or businesses, there was the family and before the family, there was marriage.

Marriage is foundational because it is on this relationship that the Lord God began to build society. When the Lord God brought Adam and Eve together in the garden, marriage was the framework for the development of their social interaction as they grew together. It was in the context of marriage that they learned their responsibilities toward each other and lived out their commitment to each other. Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. ”Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. Sad but true, those who claim to know the Lord God and His Son live in disobedience in their lifestyle. In this society in which we live, they even require a dog to have a license if you own one. How much more are we than dogs? You must be aware, the human society in all its forms depend on marriage for its survival. That is why the current low regard for marriage in the minds of so many, is so dangerous. With so many people confused about marriage, it is any wonder that society in general is in disarray. The adversary know that if he can destroy marriage he can destroy families; if he can destroy families he can destroy society, and if he can destroy society he can destroy humanity. That is the domino effect.
Marriage is also the foundation upon which the Church, the community of believers who make up God's special society, rests. In God's New Testament, He describes the relationship between Christ and His Church as being like that of a bridegroom. ...submitting to one another in the fear of God. Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her... “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
Remember, the relationship between Christ and His Church is a model for that which should exist between husband and wife: a relationship of respect, mutual submission and sacrificial love.
Please note: A healthy "home" is the key to both a healthy church and a healthy society.
