It is very important that the Holy Spirit reigns in our body and life. He is the one who keeps you connected to the Kingdom of Heaven. It is the governors in a kingdom who are personal appointees of the king. They may be personal friends of the king, or at least known to him by their reputation or recommendation. In either way, they are chosen for their loyalty to the king and their commitment to his policies and laws. His purpose is their purpose, and his objectives are their objectives. Quite often they come from the very center of the king's court, those intimate of the king, who understand his thoughts and are of one mindset with him.
Now this certainly describes the Holy Spirit, who never speaks of His own record, but states only that which He has received from the Lord God, the Father, the King of Heaven. He is perfectly suited to be Governor of Heaven's Kingdom gardens on Planet Earth because He knows perfectly the heart and mind of Kingdom Citizens to those of the King, thus shaping the "gardens" of their lives to faithfully manifest the government and culture of Heaven. The Kingdom ambassador Paul made this statement: Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Jesus Himself was even more explicit in describing the work of the Master Gardener when He made this statement: "And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you." "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you." And also when He was speaking of the work of the Holy Spirit: "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you."
Now, because the Master Gardener always carries out the will of the King, His presence in us enables us to do the same. What does that say for those who go by the name "Christian" and claim to know Him, but fail to live by His Word? In this way, under His guidance, we can shape our lives and behavior into beautiful gardens that accurately reflect the heart, nature and character of our King.
