Some people think that an individual who wields absolute power is in a place of authority. The very nature of a dictator cancels authority. That is because true authority does not demand unconditional rule over others. It pays for you to keep this in mind, a dictatorship incorporates the domination approach to a great extent. It does not allow freedom of expression or permit people to explore ideas and fully partake of opportunities for personal and professional growth. In essence, they are denied the ability to be human beings, as God intended us to be. Many people confuse dictatorship with authority if they have lived under an oppressive system for a period of time so that it has become familiar, even though repressive.
A dictator and a tyrant are similar, in that instead of exhibiting true authority, they are authoritarian. The meaning of authoritarian is believing in, relating to, or characterized by unquestioning obedience to authority, as that of a dictator, rather than individual freedom of judgment and action. Someone with an authoritarian approach demands unquestioned obedience from others. The tyrant spirit is one of ultimate corrupt power that wants you to submit without thought or question. A tyrant is not only a usurper of power, but he also especially wields power for his own personal gain and security. Now by the word "usurper", I mean to take or assume (power, a position, property, rights) and hold in possession by force or without right. If you desire to know where King Jesus received His authority, read what He stated to the religious people around Him. For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man.
You should never force someone to follow Christ. Jesus never ordered or forced people to follow Him. He gave them an invitation, and they saw a need within themselves, that they hungered for. The ruler Nicodemus, had this hunger: Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
In other words, if you aren't filled with the Spirit of God, you can't even see the Kingdom. Seek the Kingdom, and you shall be filled with His Promise.
