As a result, divorce and remarriage have become not only commonplace, but also acceptable--even expected--even in the eyes of many believers. Some individuals have even gone as far as to suggest that the measure of one's manhood or womanhood is determined by how many different sex partners they have had. We live in a very corrupted society; and the media keeps putting lust as love, which one has nothing to do with the other. That concept is completely twisted. It is sick and satanic, yet it reflects what is currently happening in our society. It is "normal". It is because of the pervasiveness of worldly philosophies regarding marriage and family, many believers are ignorant of the Lord God's standards. Instead of believers reading and studying the Word of God for themselves, they listen to priests and preachers read and quote it from their own interpretation. Many who claim to be believers don't have the Spirit of God living in them. You can observe it by the lives they live.
We need to read again the statement the King Jesus made: But from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.
In the house His disciples also asked Him again about the same matter. So He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her. And if a woman divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.”
It is only through repentance and our faith in Jesus the Christ that we can turn this around and have our feet set back on the path of righteousness. But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
I will continue with part two tomorrow.
