Now a careful study of all forms of religion reveals that all religions are designed and built on the promise of meeting needs. Here are just some: Islam, Spiritualism, Baha'i, Hinduism, Humanism, Judaism, etc. To this list you must add institutional Christianity. Christianity in its most rigid, regulated, ritualistic and legalistic form is a religion run and controlled by men. When it comes to finances, in some cases, I would refer to them as crooks. It all boils down to one thing. They are seeking the wrong priorities.
Another common characteristic of religion is that all religions are motivated by the pleasing of deity in order to secure their basic needs (crops, weather, protection, preservation, etc). After man became separated from the Lord God because of his disobedience, he began to fear that his needs wouldn't be met. So he began to worship gods of his own invention. Man-made deities that were at best only the faintest shadow of the loving God that Adam and Eve knew in the Garden of Eden. This is why human history is so full of gods. The sun god, moon god, rain god, ocean god, god of fire, god of war, the god of sex and fertility--which saturates American culture. Man invented religion in an effort to appease fearful and unknown deities into giving him what he needed for daily life. In a religious mindset, people are afraid of dying, but those who have embraced the Kingdom concept, leaving this "dirt body" is just going back home. I remember the word of encouragement from the ambassador: So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Remember, your faith in the Lord God's Word is your greatest asset in the Kingdom of God.
