Wisdom of the Kingdom Concept

Don’t turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you.
Love her, and she will guard you.
Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do!
And whatever else you do, develop good judgment.
If you prize wisdom, she will make you great.
Embrace her, and she will honor you.
She will place a lovely wreath on your head;
she will present you with a beautiful crown.”
Proverbs 4:6-9 NLT
In a kingdom, everything belongs to the king, we OWN nothing. In our world today, that concept is foreign to us!
Kingdom governments are often not taught today. When I was a teenager in Brooklyn, New York, I was taught World History during the tenth grade. I learned about kingdoms and governments. I also learned about empires and what it meant to live in a colony. To have studied these governments is beneficial to understanding God’s Kingdom government.
Empires and their colonies are outdated in our twenty-first century world. They are fading remnants of the past; poor representations of what a kingdom was meant to be, with tyrants or dictators in a position of king without kingly characteristics. All of these things prevent us from getting a clear vision of what life in God’s Kingdom is meant to be.
Keep this in mind: Democracy is essentially mankind’s reaction to a perverted kingdom. Man always tries to “fix it” themselves! Throughout all of the Old Testament we read of corrupt kings and their kingdoms. King Ahab is a good example of a wicked and unrighteous king, one who was easily manipulated. In the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, Ahab the son of Omri became king over Israel; and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.
Now Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord, more than all who were before him. And it came to pass, as though it had been a trivial thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took as wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Sidonians; and he went and served Baal and worshiped him. Then he set up an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal, which he had built in Samaria. And Ahab made a wooden image. Ahab did more to provoke the Lord God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel who were before him. 1 Kings 16:29-33
Keep in mind that the founders of the United States rebelled against England, because of what they considered to be an oppressive government. The founders of America were seeking their independence from England. This is why the western society was anti-kingdom. They had a negative experience as a colony of a kingdom.
Now, because of the strong influence of political and social ideas of independence and freedom, this thinking has permeated the world as a whole. This is why the concept of a kingdom is dismissed by most people today. They are seen as oppressive and only benefiting the rich. Man’s kingdoms fall short and are not a true representation of God’s Kingdom. A true kingdom is ruled by a king and a king alone. He is the one who makes all of the decisions. A true king is benevolent, taking care of all his citizens needs, not only his needs. A king doesn’t have to answer to anyone. But in a democracy, there is a process and everyone has a say. Democracy was mankind’s idea, not the Lord God’s. Democracy was mankind’s answer to corrupt governments, including corrupt kingdoms. If man’s kingdoms operated as God’s Kingdom, we would have had no need for a democratic government.
Now in the light of all I have mentioned, many people no longer understand what life in an authentic, uncorrupted kingdom entails. By the way, Adam and Eve lived in an uncorrupted Kingdom until he disobeyed. Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so.
Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Genesis 1:26-31
In truth, all power and authority is vested in the monarch. Our power and authority is bestowed upon us by our King. The king actually personally owns the country, including the people in it. Not as slaves, but he is responsible for their well-being. I will not rebuke you for your sacrifices or your burnt offerings, which are continually before Me. I will not take a bull from your house, nor goats out of your folds. For every beast of the forest is Mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills. I know all the birds of the mountains, and the wild beasts of the field are Mine. “If I were hungry, I would not tell you; for the world is Mine, and all its fullness. Psalm 50:8-12
In essence, a kingdom is therefore the governing influence and authority of a king over His territory. His kingdom is his responsibility. By the way, we are His territory. We are His colony and the Holy Spirit is His Governor over that colony! He imparts His personal Will on His people. In a Kingdom, the King’s personal Will becomes law. This helps to understand the difference between a religious mindset and a Kingdom mindset! Knowing the wisdom of what a kingdom, colony and king are and how they operate will help you to walk boldly in your position and purpose as a citizen of God's Kingdom. For the Lord grants wisdom! From His mouth come knowledge and understanding. He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity. He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to Him. Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair, and you will find the right way to go. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy. Wise choices will watch over you. Understanding will keep you safe. Wisdom will save you from evil people, from those whose words are twisted. Proverbs 2:6-12 NLT
And remember, your faith in the King’s Word is your greatest asset in His Kingdom.
