The World Loves its Own, But We Belong to Him
We live in a fallen world; one that is possessed by many demonic spirits. From the very first moment man was disobedient, sin separated mankind from his Creator. At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves.
When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife heard the Lord God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the Lord God among the trees.
A Kingdom mindset is required if you are to overcome all the separations that the evil one has set up in this world system. Now the question is, how do you obtain this mindset? By staying in His Word and allowing the Governor—the Holy Spirit—to fill your life with His presence. But that is not all! You must also submit to His leading and allow Him to guide you. You shouldn’t make any decision without His approval…and I do mean any decision!
There are so many religious people who don’t have any idea who King Jesus really is. Many aren’t filled with the Spirit. If they aren’t filled with the Spirit, how can they be led by the Spirit? If you are a Kingdom citizen, you realize you must be filled with His Spirit. Ambassador Paul made this statement while speaking to those in the city of Rome: He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.
Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.
In the United States, religious individuals who have an entertainment mindset, want to be seen and recognized for who they are. In other words, they want to be recognized for their gifts and talents by the world’s system. Their religious services have the same platform and design of the secular entertainment industry. Different subject matter, same presentation.
Kingdom citizens, on the other hand, are focused on the King rather than man. Their aim is to please the King and being true representative ambassadors of the Kingdom government. They live by their faith in the King’s Word. They recognize that this present world isn’t their home, and it doesn’t love them. “If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you.” Far too many Christian leaders want to be recognized by those who can assist them in advancing their career and popularity. True Kingdom leaders will follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, wherever it may take them.
Every Kingdom citizen has a purpose and assignment, given to them by the Holy Spirit—the Governor. Now let me make this perfectly clear: the devil, yes, the devil—the evil one—Satan—is out to destroy mankind because he knows that his time here on earth is short. Satan was cast out of the Kingdom when he attempted to overthrow Michael and his angels. The devil made it his mission to deceive the whole world and keep it from accepting the Kingdom message. He doesn’t mind if you accept man’s doctrines, but not the message that restores you back to the Kingdom! Read the report the Lord Jesus gave to John: Then there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon and his angels. And the dragon lost the battle, and he and his angels were forced out of heaven. This great dragon—the ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world—was thrown down to the earth with all his angels. Then I heard a loud voice shouting across the heavens,
“It has come at last—salvation and power and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down to earth—the one who accuses them before our God day and night. And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony. And they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die. Therefore, rejoice, O heavens! And you who live in the heavens, rejoice! But terror will come on the earth and the sea, for the devil has come down to you in great anger, knowing that he has little time.”
Those of us who are Kingdom citizens live by our faith in His Word. We live according to His Spirit. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.
Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.
But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to Him at all.)
Remember, if you live by the world’s standards, you can’t please the King. Your faith in the Lord Jesus is your greatest asset in the Kingdom of God.
