The Source of Your Foundation for Life
Have you ever given thought of what your foundation is for life? I suppose the question is: What do I mean by foundation? The foundation is that support you depend on in times of crisis. Who or what do you tend to trust or lean on?
I am reminded of a palm tree called the Manila Palm tree. It is one tree that refuses to be uprooted when a storm arises. Why? Because as tall as the tree is above ground, there is a single long root below ground, giving it stability.
What gives you stability in the time of chaos and the challenges of this life? Don't trust in religion or religious clichés or statements. Scripture from God's Constitution isn't religious, even though some have tried to make them that. Scripture from God's Constitution is to all mankind to live and govern themselves by. Even though some of man's laws have tried to change them, His Word is still sovereign. Regardless what is being said concerning God's Constitution, His law is the foundation for our lives. Jesus made this powerful statement:
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. I will keep bringing up His statement, until we get a clue of the power of His Word!
Keep in mind, the Lord God is our Creator and the Creator of Heaven and Earth. In other words, we can not live or do anything without Him. He is our Source. Remember, we have three components: We have a body that is made of dirt, a soul that consists of the mind, will and emotions, and a spirit that will live in eternity. If we fail to embrace our King as our foundation, eternity will be spent in torment.
But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe. And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
Remember, the spirit of mankind isn't destroyed, only placed in another location: Either eternal life or eternal damnation. You have the opportunity to make that decision while we are alive and well. If your foundation is a creation of mankind, then you are doomed to failure. But if your foundation is secured by the Creator of Heaven and Earth, it is eternal life.
He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
Remember this one thing: Hate should never be the foundation for your existence. Regardless what others may say or do, always embrace the characteristics of your foundation.
For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother’s righteous. Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you. We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death. Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
Matthew 24:35 Jude 5-7 I John 5:10-12 I John 3:11-15
