The Returning of the King and His Kingdom
Constitutional Scripture: Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, "Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand."
Focus Point: As I have been saying for some time, we need to return to the original governing concept of God the Creator, which is the kingdom concept.
Focus Point: Don't you know, that the world needs a benevolent king. We have that king. We just don't recognize Him. Once we are under the rule of this gracious, merciful, benevolent, loving, caring king He takes personal responsibility for us; not as servants or serfs, but as family and royal children.
Constitutional Scripture: Romans 8:16-17 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17) and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
History continually fails to show us a government that manifests the equality, harmony, stability and community that all men desire. In a kingdom that is truly ideal, all citizens welfare is the personal responsibility of the king. This is why the original kingdom concept, as in the kingdom of God tonight by Jesus the Christ, is superior to all other governments.
Question: Why do religious leaders keep preaching and teaching on healing, finances, praise and worship outside of the kingdom concept?
Focus Point: Keep in mind, the concept of "commonwealth" describes the nature of the relationship the king has with His citizens and subjects. The wealth in the kingdom is common. In a true ideal kingdom there is no discrimination or distinction between the rich and the poor, for in such a kingdom all citizens have equal access to kingdom wealth and resources provided by the benevolent king. I essence, the king's interest is the welfare of the kingdom and everything in it.
Questions:
1. In your opinion, how should we return to the governing concept of God the Creator? How will the kingdom concept be a part of our return?
2. Why do you believe we need a benevolent king but do not recognize that He is already here? How does His benevolence affect your life?
3. Do you feel that you are the personal responsibility of God the Creator? Why or why not? How can you increase in the realization of His benevolence toward you?
4. What does the "commonwealth principle" of the Kingdom mean to you personally? How does it eradicate distinction?
5. What does it mean that the "king's interest is the welfare of the kingdom and everything in it"? Why is God so interested in us? How does this interest show the difference between a religious person and one who has a relationship with the king?
Focus Point: Remember this, the care of the citizens by the king is a concept called "kingdom welfare" and describes the king's personal commitment to look after the needs and wants of his citizens with the land. The word welfare can only be understood fully in the context of a kingdom. Whenever we submit to a king and his kingdom, we come under his welfare. Welfare isn't a word that can be used in a democracy.
Focus Point: Take a moment to think about the fact that you are "on welfare: "Kingdom welfare"!
