The Redeeming of Your Body
Remember, although Jesus redeemed your spirit man, your body has not yet been redeemed. After Jesus rose from the dead, he promised that He would return to redeem your body.
Constitutional Scripture: I Corinthians 15:20-21 But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21) For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead.
Focus Point: Our final victory
Constitutional Scripture: I Corinthians 15:51-52 51) Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— 52) in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Focus Point: Keep in your mind, that God intended for your body to live forever. God's original intent was for your body to heal after it was damaged through fire or a cut. He still intends that you will have an eternal body. He has promised that He will give life to your body at the resurrection of the dead. Now that promise should cause you to shout for joy, or at the least smile. Your resurrected body will be like Adam's body before he was disobedient and Jesus's body after He rose from the dead. You will be able to touch your new physical body. Do you remember what Jesus stated to His disciples after His resurrection after He appeared to them?
Constitutional Scripture: Luke 24:39 Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.
Focus Point: Jesus had to show them that He had a new physical body.
Constitutional Scripture: Luke 24:40-43 When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet. 41 But while they still did not believe for joy, and marveled, He said to them, “Have you any food here?” 42 So they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb. 43 And He took it and ate in their presence.
Focus Point: Keep in mind, in this life your body is a hindrance. It gets tired, sick, fatigued and discouraged. As it grows older, you have to keep patching and repairing it. This is why our society is so quick to search for that fountain of youth. We as humans don't like aging bodies. I love what the apostle Paul says in the Constitution:
Constitutional Scripture: II Corinthians 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
Focus Point: Keep this in mind, that God is making you a new body that will far exceed anything that plastic surgery can ever do for you. Whether you know it or not, all plastic surgeons can do is patch your old body. In other words, "piece work". So don't worry if this body isn't all you like it to be. Patch it, fix it, do what you can to spruce it up; but don't equate your life with your body. God's going to get out of you all that He put in you. He wants you to start releasing your potential with the body you now have and to continue using your eternal capabilities long after your body has decayed.

Remember, you are much more than your imperfect, deteriorating body.
