The Nature of God’s Kingdom: A Perfect Government

The nature of God’s invisible Kingdom becomes especially important when we learn that His citizens on earth are to have this very nature themselves. What nature am I speaking of? The nature of the King, who is our Creator. His nature is eternal and unchanging, from the very beginning. In the first book of Moses in God’s Constitution, we read: Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Genesis 1:26-27
Keep in mind that a perfect government does not exist for itself. It exists for its citizens. People were not made as machines or individuals with no direct relationship to their Creator. Remember, they were created out of His own person.
“Let us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness.”
The original Hebrew word for image is selem, which means images in the sense of essential nature. The Hebrew word for likeness is demuth, which signifies the original after which something is patterned. These words define and describe our design, potential and value, as mankind was created to reflect the parenthood of our King and Creator.
Now, let’s discuss the nature of citizens of earth, which is a colony of heaven. Mankind being made in the image and likeness of our King and Creator means that all human beings possessed His spiritual nature, character and essential specifications—His complete essence. From the very beginning, we were designed to act like and function like the ruler of the invisible Kingdom.
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. Genesis 2:7 Our King and Creator formed Adam from the dust of the earth. Note that He didn’t speak man into existence as He did the world. He took a physical substance (dust from the earth) and breathed life into that dust and created man in His image. We come from the dust which connects us to the earth temporarily, but His Spirit lives in us and connects us to Him eternally. That breath of the Spirit ignited life in Adam in several distinct ways:
1. In the invisible spirit of man, being made in the image of God, who is eternal.
2. In the soul of man—meaning the total human consciousness of his mind, will, and emotions.
3. In his physical body, a living vessel housing the spirit and soul. This vessel is temporal.
This is very important to understand and keep in your thoughts when seeking to understand God’s Kingdom here on this earth. That is what makes us a tripod being—a reflection of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Man’s soul and body gave him an awareness of his earthly environment, while the Holy Spirit, dwelling within man’s spirit, gave him a consciousness of His King and Creator and the ability to communicate directly with God’s Heavenly government. Remember, we are a colony of Heaven, led by His Holy Spirit.
Keep this thought in mind: The Spirit gave life to all aspects of Adam as a human being. The statement “Let us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness.” does not refer to looking like, but being like the essence of Him.
You are not whom you look like, but whom your spirit reflects.
Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:17-18
Human beings—mankind—was created to express the nature of the Lord God; in other words, the nature and character of our Lord and King. I must say, a person can relate to and reflect His nature only if he has His Spirit living within. Ambassador Paul wrote: God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’ Acts 17:24-28
I will close by stating that you must possess the nature of the King through His Holy Spirit, Our Kingdom Governor. You cannot do it without His guidance.
Remember, your faith in His Word is your greatest asset in the Kingdom.
