The Misconception of Marriage
There is a serious misconception of marriage when it comes to the leadership in the home. There are men who think they are the boss of their wives. The concept is a misguided interpretation of the husbands role in the family. The husband is the cultivator and leader of his marriage and of his family.
A husband leads his marriage and family by example and precepts. He is the one who shows others how it should be done. He should always be in line with God's purpose for his life. By the way, that is being in line with God's Word.
Please note: Before any husband or father considers leading God's people, he should first consider his situation and leadership abilities. He should always seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit, which is an extension of God the Father.
The Apostle Paul made this statement:
Constitutional Scripture: I Timothy 3:4-5 one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence 5 (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?)
Focus Point: Remember, husbands, you are the leaders of your marriage and family. And those of you husbands who are leaders over God's church: the people you are shepherding and leading are God's people, not yours. If you cannot lead your family, you should not lead God's people.
