The King’s Plan of Restoring the Holy Spirit

After Adam and Eve sinned, the Lord God already had a plan for the Holy Spirit—our Kingdom Governor—to return to mankind. He implemented a program that allowed the Holy Spirit to come upon individual people, although not yet within them so as not to violate His integrity. Do you recall what the Lord God stated to Moses concerning the seventy elders and His Spirit? So the Lord said to Moses: “Gather to Me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people and officers over them; bring them to the tabernacle of meeting, that they may stand there with you. Then I will come down and talk with you there. I will take of the Spirit that is upon you and will put the same upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, that you may not bear it yourself alone. Then you shall say to the people, ‘Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat; for you have wept in the hearing of the Lord, saying, “Who will give us meat to eat? For it was well with us in Egypt.”
Therefore the Lord will give you meat, and you shall eat. You shall eat, not one day, nor two days, nor five days, nor ten days, nor twenty days, but for a whole month, until it comes out of your nostrils and becomes loathsome to you, because you have despised the Lord who is among you, and have wept before Him, saying, “Why did we ever come up out of Egypt?” ’ ”
And Moses said, “The people whom I am among are six hundred thousand men on foot; yet You have said, ‘I will give them meat, that they may eat for a whole month.’ Shall flocks and herds be slaughtered for them, to provide enough for them? Or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to provide enough for them?”
And the Lord said to Moses, “Has the Lord’s arm been shortened? Now you shall see whether what I say will happen to you or not.”
So Moses went out and told the people the words of the Lord, and he gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people and placed them around the tabernacle. Then the Lord came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was upon him, and placed the same upon the seventy elders; and it happened, when the Spirit rested upon them, that they prophesied, although they never did so again.
But two men had remained in the camp: the name of one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad. And the Spirit rested upon them. Now they were among those listed, but who had not gone out to the tabernacle; yet they prophesied in the camp. Numbers 11:16-26
His Spirit could come upon any person who chose to submit to the influence of His heavenly government. Since the Holy Spirit had been recalled, He would come and rule in someone’s life when that individual person yielded to His prompting and direction. Keep in mind, this wasn’t the same influence over the entire world that was in place before the rebellion (disobedience); it was what I would call “selective individual rulership” or “rulership by submission”. This is in the timeframe from when Adam and Eve were removed from the Garden of Eden and when the Lord Jesus went back to the Father.
Now, allow me to share with you the sacrificial system, which the children of Israel practiced. It allowed the Holy Spirit to operate on earth through a special nation of people who were meant to be a prototype of the return of the Kingdom to the whole world. Keep in mind that the King Himself would come to earth to restore integrity to all mankind and then provide a way for the Holy Spirit to live again within mankind on a permanent basis.
Understanding the King’s program to restore mankind puts the entire Old Testament in the proper light. It isn’t a group of religious stories strung together or a handbook of rituals. It is about the King initiating His restoration plan to all human beings. "Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged."
“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you." John 16:7-15
Do you recall in the book of Genesis when the Lord God stated that the offspring would come and “crush the head” of the serpent? This was actually the first promise that the King was coming to this earth. So the Lord God said to the serpent: “Because you have done this, you are cursed more than all cattle, and more than every beast of the field; On your belly you shall go, and you shall eat dust all the days of your life. And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.” Genesis 3:14-15
This would defeat mankind’s deceiver, the devil, and reconcile His people to Himself and restore His Kingdom Governor—who is the Holy Spirit. For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end. Isaiah 9:6-7a
In the real sense, what we call Christmas really began in the third chapter of the book of Genesis. The King’s Father was preparing this earth to receiver the King’s Son! Then the old sacrificial system would be replaced by a permanent, perfect, ultimate sacrifice made by the King’s Son, Jesus.
Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but a body You have prepared for Me. In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no pleasure. Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come—In the volume of the book it is written of Me—To do Your will, O God.’ ”
Previously saying, “Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the law), then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second. By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.
But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before, “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin. Hebrews 10:5-18
Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; My ears You have opened. Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require. Psalm 40:6
The King did not desire sacrifice from mankind. He wanted to live in man through His Spirit. We are His territory in His Kingdom!
Remember, your faith in His Word is your greatest asset.
