The Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand
Those are the words of John and the Lord Jesus. In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, and saying, “Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand!” NKJV Again, the very words rang out from his first cousin, Jesus: From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” NKJV Those are the words that every citizen of the Kingdom should be echoing around the world to preach and spread the Gospel of the Kingdom. That was the key reason the Lord Jesus came to earth. And the crowd sought Him and came to Him and tried to keep Him from leaving them; but He said to them, “I must preach the Kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.” NKJV I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. NKJV
Keep in mind, before our Lord and King returns, this Gospel of the Kingdom must be taught and preached all around the world. He didn’t call us to preach a condemning message, but a message to make us aware that the Kingdom government is here. People in this world aren’t looking for religion, they are looking for the Kingdom. Mankind didn’t lose a religion, they lost a Kingdom and ever since, they have been trying to find it through religion, a deceptively poor substitute. The Lord Jesus made it quite clear. Until John the Baptist, the law of Moses and the messages of the prophets were your guides. But now the Gospel of the Kingdom of God is preached, and everyone is eager to get in.
Aren’t you tired of religious traditions and customs? Aren’t you tired of not having the power to overcome your challenges? The Kingdom of God is His power in the Holy Spirit (Governor in the Kingdom) residing in your mortal body. When the question was asked, “Lord, has the time come for you to free Israel and restore our kingdom?” His reply was this: “The Father alone has the authority to set those dates and times, and they are not for you to know. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Witnesses of the Kingdom government, not of some religious group or organization. He doesn’t need a religious group to represent Him. He wanted people who love Him and are filled with the Holy Spirit (our Governor). If you love me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you. No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you.
When are we going to get a clue? The Kingdom message was so important that He spent an extra forty days instructing and teaching His disciples before He returned to His homeland. In my first book I told you, Theophilus, about everything Jesus began to do and teach until the day he was taken up to heaven after giving His chosen apostles further instructions through the Holy Spirit. During the forty days after He suffered and died, He appeared to the apostles from time to time, and He proved to them in many ways that He was actually alive. And He talked to them about the Kingdom of God. That alone should show how important He regarded His Father’s message to be. What I find is that many religious people and their leaders are not interested in the Kingdom, but their own agenda and message, one that will tickle the ears of their followers. For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths.
The Lord God waited until the right time to send His Son to earth with this message “The Kingdom of Heaven is here”. That should be the message of every citizen. The question is, are you a citizen of the Kingdom government, or a member of a religious group? You can’t be both, any more than you can put new wine in old wineskins. The Lord Jesus told them what to preach and who to preach it to. These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’” NKJV That is all we should be teaching. This is our sole purpose and why my wife and I were led to create this Kingdom teaching website, so all who are willing could embrace the gospel of the Kingdom of God before His return. Remember, the time is growing short! And the Gospel about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come.
