The Kingdom of God is Within You Pt 2
For those of us who have embraced the Lord Christ as our King, the Kingdom of God is our homeland. But this kingdom lives within us. Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.” It is not a chosen Kingdom; it is an inherited Kingdom from our Creator, he made us this way.
Now the second phase of the coming of the Kingdom, is that it has come upon you. (or reached you already). But if I cast out demons with the finger of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.
The Kingdom of God is within you, but in order to even see the Kingdom, you must first accept its King. It comes upon you in the person of Jesus the Christ. Now you personalized it, it's my kingdom. That introduces us to the second phase: The Kingdom stands at your door, and comes upon you as a deliberate choice resulting in a new birth. Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Jesus also made a statement that was recorded by Matthew. ...and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
When I was growing up, I had a religious mindset, but once I embraced the Kingdom concept, I realized that the term "saved" was a religious mindset. Remember, this kingdom is at your door, in the most wonderful Person that ever came into the plain of human existence. He brought with Him the Kingdom we once lost. He restored to us the unshakable Kingdom.
This new birth from above puts us on top of the world. There are five aspects of an earthly kingdom: 1. the mineral kingdom, 2. the vegetable kingdom, 3. the animal kingdom, 4. the kingdom of man or human kingdom, and 5. the Kingdom of God. Now, let us imagine that each of these "kingdoms" were equally able to think and reason: Members of each of these kingdoms might think that life ends with that particular kingdom and there was nothing higher. The mineral kingdom might think that there is nothing higher than the mineral. Now the plant kingdom knows that plant life is higher than the mineral. When we come to the kingdom of man, the humanists say that life stops with man "know yourself and you will know all there is to be known". But in all ages, among all men, there is the pressure from above which awakens men to prayer, to aspirations, to purpose and to the Lord God. We hear about this Kingdom and we know it is our real destiny by not responding to our past evil inheritance, to our present evil world system and to our own choices. At times we may feel the deck is stacked against us. But the good news of the Kingdom of God arouses our hope and expectations. We are born from above.
Remember, the best Man who ever lived and the most powerful Man that ever lived, as well as the most trustworthy, Jesus, the Son of God, offers us a birth from above. He wipes away all you accumulated since the first natural birth. It seems too good to be true, but we should embrace it. We should give up our attempts to do it in our own strength and embrace and trust His offer of the Unshakable Kingdom!
