The King Cares For His People
In this day and age, there seems to be far too many leaders who really aren't concerned about the people. There are so many religious leaders that are more concerned with their own interests than the purpose that God has called them to fulfill.
When King Jesus came to planet earth, He was very concerned for the citizens of earth. He was following His Father's mandate for earth. What was that? Restoring what they had lost from the beginning--a Kingdom. While He was teaching the masses the concept of the Kingdom, He never allowed them to want for anything while they followed Him. When Jesus heard it, He departed from there by boat to a deserted place by Himself. But when the multitudes heard it, they followed Him on foot from the cities. And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick. When it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, “This is a deserted place, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food.” But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.” And they said to Him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish.”
He said, “Bring them here to Me.” Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes. So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained. Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children. If we are to be a true representative of the Kingdom, there must be compassion, love and concern for the people! This is what a king does. He takes care of his people in every way. What I see in many of the so-called ministries is this: they have a ministry within a ministry; and that ministry supports them and their family. Where is the love for the citizen of the kingdom (meaning the people of the Lord God)? Jesus was teaching the Kingdom, but He was also very concerned for their physical needs. They focus on building up their kingdom rather than teaching the Kingdom! They aren't living by their faith in the King's Word, but by their own means. They fail to realize their responsibility to the people of the Kingdom of God. They have become so materialistic and ineffective in the work of the Kingdom.
How many leaders fail to even attempt to visit the sick for themselves, rather than leaving it to their assistants? Church members who are hungering for the Kingdom while attending their religious institutions. They are starving for it, because their leaders refuse to learn the Kingdom concept. Some are afraid for their financial security.
There was another occasion where King Jesus fed at least four thousand. Now Jesus called His disciples to Himself and said, “I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat. And I do not want to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.”
Then His disciples said to Him, “Where could we get enough bread in the wilderness to fill such a great multitude?” Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” And they said, “Seven, and a few little fish.”
So He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And He took the seven loaves and the fish and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitude. So they all ate and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets full of the fragments that were left. Now those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children. In the same situation, after the people were fed, He collected the remains. He didn't waste anything.
So many leaders are too fixated on the building where they hold their services and the other material things that say "we are successful" that the poor and those in need are being neglected. Jesus always had compassion for those who were in need.
Here are my last words concerning this:
Many of our leaders aren't being led by the Holy Spirit, to the point that there is serious doubt if they ever had Him (the Holy Spirit). They are man-driven, not Spirit-driven. Leaders, feed His sheep!
