The Government of Man Vs the Kingdom of God Pt 2
Keep in mind, the Lord God and King that I serve is a King of order. Can the same be said about the person you surrender your service to? In the book of Genesis in God’s Constitution you will find evidence of this as one of the Lord God’s motives for creating man. This is the history of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground; but a mist went up from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground. NKJV
From those very verses we see that the Lord God didn’t allow any productive growth to take place on this earth. Why was that? “There was no man to work the ground”. The word “work” implies management, administration, orderly development and creating an environment so it will grow and become fruitful. One of the principle motives for His creation of man was to provide a manager, administrator and a ruler of planet earth. Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”
Remember, mankind’s assignment from the Lord God was to rule and have dominion. This was the Lord God’s original intent before man’s disobedience, not as we view it in today’s world system. Having said that, the first command given to Adam by the Lord God was to establish a “government” on this earth to destroy chaos and to maintain order. Needless to say, government is the Lord God’s solution to disorder, but in a fallen world, there is corruption throughout many government officials. The world’s governing system is inherently corrupt.
The fall of mankind is recorded in the third chapter of Genesis in God’s Constitution. It was the result of mankind declaring his independence from the government of heaven, resulting in anarchy and social and spiritual chaos. Rebellion against the Lord God’s law is what caused the world to be in the shape it is in now. Israel, while they were in the wilderness, is a perfect example of this. So, the Lord God decided to send His Son to re-establish His Kingdom in the hearts of mankind. “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him.”
Ever since that first fatal fall from governing grace by Adam, mankind has been attempting to establish some form of self-government that would alleviate the continuing internal and external chaos. Keep in mind that some chaos is also manifested in the physical creation he was assigned to govern—earth. Ambassador Paul made this statement: Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory He will reveal to us later. For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who His children really are. Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay. Ambassador Paul’s statement reveals the reality that government affects not only the people of the land, but also the land and its physical environment. Governing is very serious business. When mankind rejected heaven’s government, he also became the source of his own governing program. That is why we have so much corruption in this world today: Man attempting to be self-governing without the guidance of the Holy Spirit—our Governor.
