The Core of Morality in the Kingdom

When the Lord God created His people, Israel, He gave them a standard of morality to maintain. That standard was to identify them as to whom they belonged as a nation. There were laws that they were to apply to their daily lives to remain in right-standing with their Lord God. Back in the day of Moses, the children of Israel were the Lord God’s chosen people, representing His nation here on earth. He was their King and their King alone. He gave them laws that would set a standard of morality on every level of their lives.
Keep in mind, these laws and principles were for those people and nations who chose to follow the children of Israel. They had to obey those rules and laws. Yes, even the strangers who chose to dwell with the Lord God’s people had to obey those principles and standards. Also you shall say to them: “Whatever man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell among you, who offers a burnt offering or sacrifice”. . . And whatever man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell among you, who eats any blood, I will set My face against that person who eats blood, and will cut him off from among his people. . . Whatever man of the children of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell among you, who hunts and catches any animal or bird that may be eaten, he shall pour out its blood and cover it with dust. Leviticus 17:8, 10, 13 The emphasis here is that both foreigners and Israelites were to obey God’s commands.
One of the key principles was: You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord. Leviticus 19:18 Remember, it was not Moses’ law, but the Father’s law. Moses was just the representative of the Lord God to speak to the children of Israel.
When the Father sent His Son to earth, He sent Him with a new commandment, to treat one another with the same spirit as you experience in Christ Jesus our Lord. A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. John 13:34 Do unto others as you would have them do to you is the standard you desire for yourself, but this new morality of the Kingdom sets the standard of doing what the Lord Jesus would do for you.
The standard set in the Sermon on the Mount of Olives was the highest until the Lord Jesus amended it further in the light of His own unfolding. Then it became “Treat others as I have treated you”. This is the Kingdom ultimate. This clarifies the “mystery of the Kingdom”—the open secret of the Kingdom of the Lord God. The Lord Jesus Himself is the open secret of the Kingdom. He is the Word that became flesh and walked among them. So the Word became flesh and made His home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen His glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son. John 1:14 NLT He is the answer. When you see the Lord Jesus, you see what the Kingdom is like. Forget the paintings and drawings that have been made to give us an image of the Lord Jesus. He is the Kingdom. To have an image of a man when you think about our King Jesus is to make Him small in your eyes. The Kingdom is the Spirit of the Lord Jesus universalized.
Yes, He is the answer. There isn’t a situation that cannot be solved if the Spirit of the Lord Jesus was applied to it. What spirit am I speaking of? His Holy Spirit.
But those who obey God’s Word truly show how completely they love Him. That is how we know we are living in Him. Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.
1 John 2:5-6 NLT
Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.
