Submitting Your Thoughts to Our Kingdom Governor

“If you love Me, keep My commandments.”
The Lord Jesus made that statement to His disciples in John 14:15. To submit yourself to the Kingdom of God is to be led by the Holy Spirit (our Governor) and all that He represents. The Governor is an indwelling Spirit of the Kingdom of God that resides in His citizens. King Jesus continued His statement with a benefit of that obedience. “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.” John 14:16-17 Human nature loves the benefits, but not the obedience part. I see it as similar to a contract. IF you do “this”, THEN I will do “that”.
Now, keep in mind that love is a verb that requires action. When He says “if you love Me” He then tells what that action should be! Our lives should reflect His principles and behavior. This is also why it is so important to stay in God’s Constitution and stay in communication in the Kingdom realm. Be consistent and persistent!
One day Jesus told His disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up. “There was a judge in a certain city,” He said, “who neither feared God nor cared about people. A widow of that city came to him repeatedly, saying, ‘Give me justice in this dispute with my enemy.’ The judge ignored her for a while, but finally he said to himself, ‘I don’t fear God or care about people, but this woman is driving me crazy. I’m going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!’”
Then the Lord said, “Learn a lesson from this unjust judge. Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to His chosen people who cry out to Him day and night? Will He keep putting them off? I tell you, He will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man returns, how many will He find on the earth who have faith?” Luke 18:1-8 NLT
Prayer keeps us in the right frame of mind with the Kingdom while we are here on this earth. Remember, if you love Him and His Word (He IS the Word!) the correct response is to obey and live by His Word. Not “lip service”—words from the mouth, not the heart—but embrace His Word as if your eternal life depends on it, because it does! But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33
He didn’t say to seek Him first. He was never hidden, but the Kingdom is hidden and something you must want and hunger for to find it. It should be our first priority. Why did the Lord God make it that way? Because in His Kingdom there is all that we could ever want or need. “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to Him than they are? 27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?” Matthew 6:25-27 NLT
The Kingdom of God is priceless!
“Again, the Kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
“Again, the Kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it. Matthew 13:44-46
This all hinges on your faith and love for His Word. Seeking the Kingdom should be your number one priority because that was King Jesus’ command to His people. Because He loves us and wants us to receive His benefits.
Now what does it mean to submit to God’s Kingdom? It is surrendering your will to His Will. It is being led and guided by the Holy Spirit, our Kingdom Governor. It is having faith that His Ways are better than anything we could think or imagine. “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth, He is the One who will come and live inside of your mortal body. This is God's plan for His people! The Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. John 14:17
Those who have submitted to the Will of the Holy Spirit know the Lord God. We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the Spirit of Truth and the spirit of error. 1 John 4:6 Even the Lord Jesus submitted to His Father’s Will. “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” Luke 22:42
That should be every Kingdom citizen’s prayer “not my will but Your Will”. We must learn to put our will on the “back burner”. His Will should always be dominant in our lives and our will submissive to Him. His Will is always far better than what we could imagine or make!
Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the Will of God.
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:27-28
Remember that your greatest asset is your faith in the Lord God’s Word.
