February--Week Eight
Article: Subject to the King's Word
- Many religious people say that they love the Lord Jesus, but fail to obey His Word. If you love Me, obey My commandments. John 14:12 Loving God means keeping His commandments, and His commandments are not burdensome. For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. 1 John 5:4
- When we have faith in the Lord Jesus, we are trusting in the Lord God's Word. So the Word became human and made His home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen His glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son. John 1:14 He wore a robe dipped in blood, and His title was the Word of God. Revelation 19:13
- To become closer to the Lord God, we first must learn to be obedient and study His Word. That takes consistency and a desire to know Him more. Study and do your best to present yourself to God approved, a workman [tested by trial] who has no reason to be ashamed, accurately handling and skillfully teaching the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 AMP He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me. John 14:24

Article: The Ties That Bind in a Marriage Part 3
- In the Kingdom of the Lord God, marriage is between a man and a woman; one husband and one wife. So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. While the man slept, the Lord God took out one of the man’s ribs and closed up the opening. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib, and He brought her to the man. “At last!” the man exclaimed. “This one is bone from my bone, and flesh from my flesh! She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken from ‘man.’” This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one. Genesis 2:21-24
- Parents who are healthy and possess the means of supporting themselves shouldn't become burdens to their children. Children, on the other hand, have a responsibility to provide for the welfare of parents who can no longer provide for themselves. Even then, the marriage and your spouse, still keeps a higher priority in life. You are one, a team, even in caring for parents. Take care of any widow who has no one else to care for her. But if she has children or grandchildren, their first responsibility is to show godliness at home and repay their parents by taking care of them. This is something that pleases God. 1 Timothy 5:3-4
- Priorities. Where do you set your priorities? Never place parents or extended family above your spouse. They are your first priority, after God. Your husband or wife comes before your parent, but never abandon your responsibility to your parent, if they need you. Take care of them if needed, but after the needs of your spouse. Never allow a parent to influence you and come between you and your spouse. If there's a "side" to be on, it should be your spouse's side! Wisdom and discernment will assist you in making right decisions in a Kingdom marriage. But from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.” Mark 10:6-9 NKJV

Article: The Ties That Bind in a Marriage Part 2
- Please keep this in mind: Leaving home is a fundamental principle of marriage; don't do it until you are ready for a covenant relationship. Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. Genesis 2:24 NKJV
- Companionship is truly the basis for all successful marriages. And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” Genesis 2:18 NKJV
- One of the hardest parts of being a parent, is letting go. When your adult child chooses to marry, let them go and begin a new level of relationship with them with new boundaries. Don't cripple their maturing process. Pray for them, advise when they ask, but don't interfere with their choices or ever come between them. They are husband and wife, beginning a new family. You've done your job, let them do theirs. Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6 NKJV

Article: The Ties That Bind in a Marriage Part 1
- The relationship between a husband and a wife is the primary relationship in the family. Even in this fallen world, the Lord God's principles remain the same.
- The Lord God created the husband and wife's relationship to be the foundation to every other relationship in this life. A husband's first responsibility is to his wife and for his wife. Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. 1 Corinthians 7:3-5 NKJV
- Part of our job as parents is letting go; letting go of our adult children to live their lives. Part of that is understanding God's order for our most sacred relationships: God, spouse, children and parents. Everything else comes after that. As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.” This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one. So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. Ephesians 5:31-33
