Our Position as Ambassadors
Focus Point: Now, our dominion authority is best illustrated in the function of ambassadors and embassies. Keep this in mind, ambassadors are diplomats who carry out diplomacy for the government that they represent. Now as Christ's ambassadors here on earth, we represent the Kingdom government of God. We are diplomats of His Kingdom in this world. Learning to see ourselves as ambassadors will change the way we now think and live. But remember this, it is a process.
Constitutional Scripture: II Corinthians 5:20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ as though God was pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God.
Focus Point: Now, whenever two nations establish formal diplomatic relations with each other, they open embassies in each other's capital city. The land on which each embassy is located is regarded as the sovereign territory of the nation whose embassy is located there. That sovereignty is recognized and respected by the government of the host nation as well as other nations. For example, the United States has an embassy in China, but the soil on which it is located belongs to the United States. It is considered as American soil even though it is on Chinese property, just as in New York City or Seattle, Washington are in the United States soil, it is the same thing. Even though it is located geographically on another continent, the soil on the ground the embassy is on, the government has no jurisdiction or authority.
Focus Point: All the rights, authority and powers of that nation is represented by that government are in effect on that property. In the same way, we are ambassadors of Christ and of the Kingdom of God. Our home, office, church or anywhere our influence extends becomes an "embassy" of heaven.
Questions:
1) As a diplomat of the Kingdom of God, how are you a part of the light and not the darkness?
Constitutional Scripture: I Thessalonians 5:5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.
2) In what ways will "learning to see ourselves as ambassadors" change the way we live and think?
3) Where is the Kingdom of God's embassy on earth? Does it have more than one location?
4) What kind of protection does the Embassy of God's Kingdom afford you? Knowing this, is there any room for fear?
5) As an ambassador for the Kingdom of God, what kinds of influence are available to you? Do you exercise these kinds of influence regularly?
