Our Citizenship

You must understand, our citizenship is a present reality. Why is this so important? Because religion postpones citizenship to the future. Religious leaders inform their people "You will be a citizen in heaven someday. You will be in the Kingdom with Jesus and the angels." They say the Kingdom hasn't come yet. But what did Jesus state in His preaching and teaching: From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. When he sent His disciples out by two, He told them what to preach. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’
Well, I must say, the religious are wrong. The Kingdom has come. Kingdom Citizenship is alive and well here on planet earth. Remember, our citizenship is in heaven. Jesus made it quite clear when He answered Pilate. Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.” The Kingdom of God is present and functional on this earth as I speak, right now. If you have been born again, the new birth, then you have been naturalized and you are a Kingdom citizen right now. That means that all the rights, benefits and privileges of Kingdom citizenship are yours right now. One problem is, many of you classify yourself as a religious group called Christianity, which goes by membership, not citizenship. You can enjoy your citizenship right now as I am writing this article. You definitely don't have to wait until some indefinite time in the future.
I love what Dr Munroe stated, "You can never appropriate what you postpone". That is what I call "locking up the Kingdom of God" to those who want to get in. Once again, I agree with Dr. Monroe: It is for this reason I am definitely convinced that the greatest enemy of the Kingdom is religion. Jesus largest opposition was religious groups. Religion keeps pushing the Kingdom away from individuals. "You can't get in now, you can't experience it now, you can't benefit from it now, wait until later." This is why so many individuals suffer. They look for miracles. In the Kingdom, what you call miracles, is really the natural process of things. Religious people lack hope, and seek for miracles. But Kingdom citizens obey the King. “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
Jesus compared us to sons. If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Religious people have a religious concept, which develops into a religious mind-set. By the way, this has been going on for centuries. That is why so many religious individuals live defeated, destitute and frustrated lives. They believe they have to wait for their "reward". By the way, the rewards aren't possessions or things. We don't have to seek them, material possessions will follow or seek us out. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. By the way, I am a living witness!
