Only One Culture, One Mindset and One Spirit
As I begin this article, what comes to mind is the many cultures, religions, denominations and languages that are here on this earth. There is so much that separates the people of the living God. The world is deceived by the evil one—Satan. Even though this world is made up of many languages, it was because of the languages that developed many cultures. It has caused many of these cultures to attempt to reach the Lord God through a manmade religion, which they have created. They are gods to themselves, in reality, they are not gods at all. Even the church, as we know it, there are so many religious groups who worship and serve the Lord God for what they can get from Him. In essence, they look for money, financial gain and prosperity.
Ambassador Paul made this statement to the believers at Galatia: Before you Gentiles knew God, you were slaves to so-called gods that do not even exist. So now that you know God (or should I say, now that God knows you), why do you want to go back again and become slaves once more to the weak and useless spiritual principles of this world? In the Kingdom, there is only one mindset and that is to please the King. Living by His Word is our culture. King Jesus made it very clear: “If you love me, obey my commandments.” Our faith in His Word gives us victory over every demonic power there is, because He is the King and the King always keeps His promises. For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.
If you live by His Word, He will speak to the Father on your behalf. Then the Father will send you your citizenship papers, meaning the Governor (Holy Spirit). And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever. NKJV Keep in mind, those with a religious or worldly mindset can’t receive the Truth. The Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. NKJV Note that the Lord Jesus stated that He will be with us and in us forever.
Having said that, in the Kingdom there is only one culture and that is the Kingdom culture. Those who are truly Kingdom citizens and not religious don’t allow fear or any tragedy to cause them to fear and lose faith. Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel, and not in any way terrified by your adversaries, which is to them a proof of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that from God. For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake. NKJV The devil is your adversary and he uses people to intimidate you. Remember that fear and faith cannot occupy the same space at the same time.
Read what ambassador Peter said: Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. You must understand that statement: he said LIKE a roaring lion. In other words, it is to cause you to fear chaos and disorder. To throw your focus off the Lord God’s Word. But he is “all bark and no bite” to a citizen of the Kingdom. He wants to change your faith in Him to fear in what you hear or see—whatever he throws at you. In the same way, you who are younger must accept the authority of the elders. And all of you, dress yourselves in humility as you relate to one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time He will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you. We are to depend on His Word. Religious people depend on their pastor and other religious leaders for their guidance, but Kingdom citizens rely on the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit (our Governor). That is our single mindset, our culture.
Always remember, your faith in the King is your greatest asset in the Kingdom of God.
