God is Jehovah Jireh, our provider. He is the giver of ALL good things. People are the conduit through which He flows. He flows through our friends and loved ones. He flows through our employer. Different needs are met through different "conduits". It is natural to begin to see the people as our source. When that happens, I believe God stops the flow through that person. We see the person--friend, family or employer--without His blessings flowing.
Yes, disappointments and betrayals are painful. Yes, being passed over for promotions and raises or "let go" from your job is very painful. But that pain can serve a purpose. It makes us wiser. It redirects our faith. God wants us to realize who is our true source. He wants us to look to Him for EVERYTHING we need. He is our provider....our Jehovah Jireh! Do you need financial provision?... He provides. Do you need love, companionship, friendship? He provides. People are the conduit... His blessings flow through them. If we can see the purpose behind that pain, we will come through it closer and more dependent on God.
Today, I want to encourage you to change your focus about people, your job and even your church. God is behind them all, sending you what you need. The conduits in your life may change, but His love and provision never changes. Keep your eyes on Him for ALL your needs. Don't forget, that you are also a conduit of His blessings for those in your life. Keep flowing, but never think that YOU are their source.
Be blessed! Arlene
