Marriage is Still God's Idea

Remember, God Himself instituted and ordained marriage at the very beginning of human history. Read in the Constitution of the book of Genesis and the second chapter. You will see how God laid out the details of a suitable helper for Adam the man.
Constitutional Scripture: Genesis 2:20-22 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. 21) And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. 22) Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
Focus Point: From the offset, God established marriage as a permanent relationship, the union of two separate people; a man and a woman, into one flesh. Read what Adam stated concerning the woman God placed before him.
Constitutional Scripture: Geneses 2:23 This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman, because she was taken out of Man.
Focus Point: Now, one flesh is not simply the gluing of two people; but rather the "fusion" of two distinct elements in to one. If I were to glue two pieces of wood together, they would be considered bonded, not fused. In essence, they still would remain two separate pieces of wood, just bonded by glue. But with a sufficient amount of heat or pressure the bond would beak or come apart.
Now, it is different when something is fused together. When two elements are fused into one, they become inseparable. Now I want you to note: A force of sufficient magnitude may destroy them, but it will never separate them.
Please note: A man and a woman who have become "one flesh" under God's design for marriage cannot be separated without suffering great damage or even destruction.
Focus Point: When God ordained that man and the woman should "become one flesh" God had a permanent lifelong relationship in mind; but man's sin of disobedience disrupted the process. Read what Jesus stated:
Constitutional Scripture: Mark 10:5-9 And Jesus answered and said to them, "Because of the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. 6) But from the beginning of the creation, God 'made them male and female.' 7) 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, 8) and the two shall become one flesh'; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9) Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate."
Focus Point: If marriage was of a human origin, then human beings would have the right to set the standard. They would also have the right to set it aside whenever they chose to do so. But since God is the One who instituted marriage, He alone has the authority to do away with it. This He will not do, for the Constitution is quite clear: marriage is a God ordained institution that involves the joining of a man and woman as "one flesh" in a lifelong relationship. Keep in mind, this institution will last as long as human life lasts on earth. Only in the life to come will marriage be dispensed with.
