Kings, Prophets--All are Representatives of the Kingdom
In recent years, it seems there has been a surge of so-called "prophets" and preachers, claiming to be representatives of the Kingdom. In reality, they do not know what the Kingdom is. They are more focused on money than the Kingdom. It is a religious gospel of "self" they speak rather than the Gospel of the Kingdom.
Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.
Normally, when we speak of the Kingdom of God, we think only of what Jesus stated about the subject as recorded in the four Gospels. Although it is certainly true that in His life and words, Jesus revealed the Kingdom more fully than ever before; they were simply the culmination of all that the Lord God had been working toward from the beginning. Keep in mind this one thing: in religion, man was made for the Sabbath, but in the Kingdom the Sabbath was made for man.
Now it happened that He went through the grainfields on the Sabbath; and as they went His disciples began to pluck the heads of grain. And the Pharisees said to Him, “Look, why do they do what is not lawful on the Sabbath?”
But He said to them, “Have you never read what David did when he was in need and hungry, he and those with him: how he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the showbread, which is not lawful to eat except for the priests, and also gave some to those who were with him?”
And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.” We aren't subject to worship or honor any day, only to honor and obey the Words of the King everyday! The entire Constitution deals with the Kingdom of God. From Genesis to Revelation, scripture reveals God as the great and almighty King of heaven and earth unwaveringly at work on His plan of the ages. Those individuals who refuse to preach and teach His message of the Kingdom fail to realize that everything centers on the Kingdom of God. All the saints of God in the Old Testament recognized this fact. The prophets knew it. Jesus knew it. All the apostles and other believers in the New Testament knew it.
Everyone, it seems, understood the priority of the Kingdom; everyone except us, that is. I must say, in recent years the focus in much of the body of Christ has shifted away from the Kingdom of God to other issues. It has become a self-focused consumer minded religion. This is because many have failed to read and study the written Word and to allow themselves to be led of the Holy Spirit. Jesus made it very plain. The Holy Spirit will be with us and in us. He also stated that the Comforter (the Holy Spirit) will teach us. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Note He stated that the Father will send it in His name. But now take another look at what Jesus stated: But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. Jesus stated that He would send the Counselor from the Father. This Counselor is also known as the Spirit of truth.
The tragic result is that multitudes of believers in today's world, know little about the Kingdom. Even fewer understand their place, purpose and rights as its citizens.
