From the very beginning of mankind, the Lord had a standard of living that Adam was to live by. It was obedience to His commands so that he would live to a Kingdom standard. Even after the fall of man, the Lord maintained His standard for His people of promise and would punish any who refused to obey them. Read what the Lord spoke to the leaders of Israel through His representative Ezekiel: Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon me, and He told me to say, “This is what the Lord says to the people of Israel: I know what you are saying, for I know every thought that comes into your minds. You have murdered many in this city and filled its streets with the dead.
Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: This city is an iron pot all right, but the pieces of meat are the victims of your injustice. As for you, I will soon drag you from this pot. I will bring on you the sword of war you so greatly fear, says the Sovereign Lord. I will drive you out of Jerusalem and hand you over to foreigners, who will carry out my judgments against you. You will be slaughtered all the way to the borders of Israel. I will execute judgment on you, and you will know that I am the Lord. No, this city will not be an iron pot for you, and you will not be like meat safe inside it. I will judge you even to the borders of Israel, and you will know that I am the Lord. For you have refused to obey my decrees and regulations; instead, you have copied the standards of the nations around you.”
The Lord's standards and principles never change. Religions have changed their standards over the centuries to fit their current culture. Always measure the information you receive from religious leadership by the word of God. It must line up with the Lord God's constitution...His Word. Never embrace human standards as your standards. Remember what the Lord stated:
“These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. NKJV Even thought He spoke it to His disciples, this holds true to this very day. I am a living witness to that! The Governor, meaning the Holy Spirit will guide and lead you. He will set the standards in your life if you will listen and allow yourself to be guided. He will represent King Jesus in you and you will reflect the King to those around you and the world. “There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can’t bear it now. When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own but will tell you what He has heard. He will tell you about the future. He will bring me glory by telling you whatever He receives from me. All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will tell you whatever He receives from me.’
What you truly believe will be reflected in your everyday behavior. How you speak, behave and especially the way you think will reflect your character. And, under stress, the parts of your character you try to keep hidden will be revealed.
The Lord's laws, principles and standards have never changed and never will. They are eternal, as He is. In contrast, in this world change is inevitable. For example, there was a time that men would open the door for a woman, now they want to open the door themselves. Chivalry is rare. Some women even get insulted when you open the door for them. They may take it as a sign of weakness, as they know they are perfectly capable of opening that door. But it is not about ability, but a matter of respect and honor. The other side of that example is that there was a time when women used to pride themselves in being treated like a woman and being seen as a lady. Now they prefer being seen as masculine, strong and being treated as a man. There was a time when a man frowned on wearing clothes that made him look feminine, now they embrace looking feminine. Everything Satan does is the opposite, a lie and a counterfeit of God's creation. He is the very antitheses of God. If you are not a citizen of the Kingdom of God, filled with and guided by the Holy Spirit, you may very well follow some of these counterfeit ever-changing standards and principles. If you know God's word and hold it up to what is being said in the world, you will be able to stay rock solid in His unchanging standards. The Lord made it very plain when He said: Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. NKJV
Remember, your faith is your greatest asset in the in the King and His Kingdom.
