If you say that you believe that the Lord God can and will heal you and deliver you from the doctor’s report of cancer in your body, then why would you allow the physician to operate or put chemicals in your body? Call my faith extreme, but I believe that the Lord God doesn’t need any assistance to heal me. Believe me, I haven’t always felt that way! If your faith only goes as far as your mouth and isn't rooted in your spirit, don't foolishly stay away from your doctor. Take an honest self evaluation of your faith in those situations. Then focus on growing in His Word. It will increase your faith! But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord. James 1:6-7
I’ve come to realize that the Lord God has a purpose for each of our lives and we will live here, fulfilling that purpose, as long as He permits. It is up to you to discover that purpose for your life. What you believe should line up with His Will for your life. In other words, there must be some evidence in your lifestyle and behavior. I have seen so many Christians who say they have faith, but their actions are full of fear, worry and anxiety! If your life reflects the world, worry, fear and anxiety repent to the Father and seek His Will and His Wisdom for your life! This knowledge has brought us through this pandemic with bold faith and peace!
If you truly believe the Lord God heals, protects and provides you will have peace in every circumstance! Your faith in Him is the answer to what you believe. So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. Mark 11:22-25
Keep in mind that doubt and faith can’t operate in the same space at the same time—impossible! Doubt will overtake the faith. There was a question asked to King Jesus while He was here on earth. Read it and His response: They replied, “We want to perform God’s works, too. What should we do?”
Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one He has sent.” John 6:28-29 NLT
They wanted to be able to do what Jesus was doing. But the Lord God just wanted them to believe in His Son Jesus. The religious people were looking for a sign and some kind of proof that He was who He said He was. But true faith doesn’t operate that way.
If you can see it, it doesn’t require faith! Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. Hebrews 11:1-2 In essence, when you walk by the Spirit, you are living according to His Word. You are taking everything He stated by faith. Abraham had faith in the Lord God, and He accounted it to him for righteousness. Genesis 15:6 Do you recall what Abraham said when taking his son to be sacrificed in obedience to God’s order? Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!”
And he said, “Here I am.”
Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”
So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son; and he split the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him. Then on the third day Abraham lifted his eyes and saw the place afar off. And Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; the lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you.”
So Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife, and the two of them went together. But Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, “My father!”
And he said, “Here I am, my son.”
Then he said, “Look, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?”
And Abraham said, “My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.” So the two of them went together.
Then they came to the place of which God had told him. And Abraham built an altar there and placed the wood in order; and he bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, upon the wood. And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.
But the Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!”
So he said, “Here I am.”
And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.” Genesis 22:1-12
Keep in mind, Abraham’s actions reflected what He truly believed. He told his son “My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.” Abraham reflected his complete faith in the Lord God. What you truly believe in the Lord Jesus will be reflected in your lifestyle. Especially in times of testing!
What—or who—are you reflecting? This fallen world and its culture or the Kingdom culture of complete, uncompromising faith in the Lord Jesus and God’s Word? Read Hebrews 11 to build your faith! Remember that everyone laughed at Noah. . . until it started raining!
Your faith in the Lord Jesus is your greatest asset in His Kingdom. It is the only thing that will bring you through.
