Has this question confronted you once or more? Well, if it has, check the answer that lies within you. In my time on this earth I have learned that trust is accompanied by time. In order for you to truly put your trust in someone, you must first believe in them and be on the lookout for their consistencies in behavior, deeds and lifestyle. In essence, how they live their life, and if it lines up with what they say or what they preach. The Lord Jesus is our perfect example. He was consistent in all He said and did while He was here in this world. He never wavered from the message His Father God had Him deliver to this world. For three and a half years He taught and preached the Kingdom of God and yet many failed to embrace His Kingdom government message.
My question to you is, why did so many of those around Him fail to embrace His message? Even His family failed to embrace His message. But that didn't hinder Him from His mission. After this, Jesus traveled around Galilee. He wanted to stay out of Judea, where the Jewish leaders were plotting his death. But soon it was time for the Jewish Festival of Shelters, and Jesus’ brothers said to him, “Leave here and go to Judea, where your followers can see your miracles! You can’t become famous if you hide like this! If you can do such wonderful things, show yourself to the world!” For even his brothers didn’t believe in him.
Jesus replied, “Now is not the right time for me to go, but you can go anytime. The world can’t hate you, but it does hate me because I accuse it of doing evil. You go on. I’m not going to this festival, because my time has not yet come.” There is only one reason His brothers didn't trust Him and that is because they didn't believe in Him as the Son of God. If people don't believe in you, they will have a very difficult time trusting you and what you have to offer. To trust is a process. Time is involved. In the Kingdom, your faith in the Lord Jesus is a key element to receiving eternal life. For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. It is a must that you trust and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, for He is the only one that can give you eternal life. Regardless of what anyone says, the Lord Jesus is your key to the Kingdom government. He is the only one who deserves your trust and allegiance. The Lord Jesus made this statement: There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. Nothing man can say to you should sway you once you have placed your trust in the Lord Jesus.
Many times, when someone who has Kingdom principles pursues a position, promotion or government appointment, there will be strong opposition from those in the world, as they are being used by the evil one (Satan). When you are in line with the Word of God, allow the Governor (Holy Spirit) to guide and use you to the fullest. If God has a purpose for you being in a certain position, no man can be successful in stopping it.
The ambassador Stephen was a great example of having complete trust and faith in the Lord Jesus. Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed amazing miracles and signs among the people. But one day some men from the Synagogue of Freed Slaves, as it was called, started to debate with him. They were Jews from Cyrene, Alexandria, Cilicia, and the province of Asia. None of them could stand against the wisdom and the Spirit with which Stephen spoke.
So they persuaded some men to lie about Stephen, saying, “We heard him blaspheme Moses, and even God.” This roused the people, the elders, and the teachers of religious law. So they arrested Stephen and brought him before the high council.
The lying witnesses said, “This man is always speaking against the holy Temple and against the law of Moses. We have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy the Temple and change the customs Moses handed down to us.”
At this point everyone in the high council stared at Stephen, because his face became as bright as an angel’s.
You will be challenged and tested for your faith, but who or what do you trust? That question must be settled before the challenges and testing come! If you notice, Stephen never mentioned anything about Christian faith. He stood on the Words of His King. He stayed faithful to God's Word, even unto death. “You stubborn people! You are heathen at heart and deaf to the truth. Must you forever resist the Holy Spirit? That’s what your ancestors did, and so do you! Name one prophet your ancestors didn’t persecute! They even killed the ones who predicted the coming of the Righteous One—the Messiah whom you betrayed and murdered. You deliberately disobeyed God’s law, even though you received it from the hands of angels.”
The Jewish leaders were infuriated by Stephen’s accusation, and they shook their fists at him in rage. But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed steadily into heaven and saw the glory of God, and he saw Jesus standing in the place of honor at God’s right hand. And he told them, “Look, I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing in the place of honor at God’s right hand!”
Then they put their hands over their ears and began shouting. They rushed at him and dragged him out of the city and began to stone him. His accusers took off their coats and laid them at the feet of a young man named Saul.
As they stoned him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” He fell to his knees, shouting, “Lord, don’t charge them with this sin!” And with that, he died.
