I must say, praising the Lord God and honoring His Son Jesus the Christ should be an every day part of your life, regardless of what is happening. Whether you are having a low moment or a high moment--your focus is to stay on the Lord God and praising His Son for including us in eternal life. It could only have been made possible through His Son being obedient to His Father God unto the cross. For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him.
Praising the Lord God shouldn't be tied to your emotions. So, whether you are "feeling it" or not, the Lord God is worthy of your praise in every situation. When you begin to praise Him for all the little things in your life you may take for granted, before long you will be "feeling it"! King David dreamed of building a house for the Lord God, but then the word of the Lord God came through the representative Nathan during the night.
But that same night God said to Nathan,
“Go and tell my servant David, ‘This is what the Lord has declared: You are not the one to build a house for me to live in. I have never lived in a house, from the day I brought the Israelites out of Egypt until this very day. My home has always been a tent, moving from one place to another in a Tabernacle. Yet no matter where I have gone with the Israelites, I have never once complained to Israel’s leaders, the shepherds of my people. I have never asked them, “Why haven’t you built me a beautiful cedar house?”’
“Now go and say to my servant David, ‘This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has declared: I took you from tending sheep in the pasture and selected you to be the leader of my people Israel. I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have destroyed all your enemies before your eyes. Now I will make your name as famous as anyone who has ever lived on the earth! And I will provide a homeland for my people Israel, planting them in a secure place where they will never be disturbed. Evil nations won’t oppress them as they’ve done in the past, starting from the time I appointed judges to rule my people Israel. And I will defeat all your enemies.
“‘Furthermore, I declare that the Lord will build a house for you—a dynasty of kings! For when you die and join your ancestors, I will raise up one of your descendants, one of your sons, and I will make his kingdom strong. He is the one who will build a house—a temple—for me. And I will secure his throne forever. I will be his father, and he will be my son. I will never take my favor from him as I took it from the one who ruled before you. I will confirm him as king over my house and my kingdom for all time, and his throne will be secure forever.’”
The Lord God had other plans. After God spoke to King David through Nathan, King David began to praise the Lord God's name. “O Lord, there is no one like you. We have never even heard of another God like you! What other nation on earth is like your people Israel? What other nation, O God, have you redeemed from slavery to be your own people? You made a great name for yourself when you redeemed your people from Egypt. You performed awesome miracles and drove out the nations that stood in their way. You chose Israel to be your very own people forever, and you, O Lord, became their God.
“And now, O Lord, I am your servant; do as you have promised concerning me and my family. May it be a promise that will last forever. And may your name be established and honored forever so that everyone will say, ‘The Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, is Israel’s God!’
Keep in mind that King David praised the Lord God because of His promises that came through His servant Nathan. Now that was faith in the Lord God's Word. David believed the Lord God even though it hadn't appeared yet! Remember what ambassador Paul stated: Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see. Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation. By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.
Praising the Lord God is a lifestyle, no just an occurrence. “O Lord, the God of our ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, make your people always want to obey you. See to it that their love for you never changes. Give my son Solomon the wholehearted desire to obey all your commands, laws, and decrees, and to do everything necessary to build this Temple, for which I have made these preparations.” Then David said to the whole assembly, “Give praise to the Lord your God!” And the entire assembly praised the Lord, the God of their ancestors, and they bowed low and knelt before the Lord and the king. Keep this in mind, David never took the Lord God's goodness to him for granted. Repeatedly he told the Lord God how good He was and how grateful he was for His so many blessings. King David acknowledged the sovereign Savior and Lord. I love you, Lord; You are my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. I called on the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and He saved me from my enemies... The Lord lives! Praise to my Rock! May the God of my salvation be exalted!... For this, O Lord, I will praise You among the nations; I will sing praises to Your name. We would do well to follow King David's example.
Remember, your faith in the Lord God's Word is your greatest asset in His Kingdom.
