Keep in mind, if you are righteous, you don’t have to “do” holiness; it is a byproduct of right standing which comes from seeking His righteousness. It is a state of being, not doing. Holiness is a manifestation of righteousness from within. Certain food, clothing, rituals and traditions don’t make you holy. Holiness is based on relationship and relationship comes from righteousness. I realize it is a lot to take in, but stay in the Word and stay focused and aware of what you are actually “seeking after”.
The question is, where does the power in righteousness come from? As with everything in the Kingdom, it comes from the King, who passes it down to you. But to the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your Kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness more than Your companions.” Hebrews 1:8-9
A scepter is the symbol of a king’s authority. It is the symbol of royal authority. If the King extends His scepter to you, it means you may enter His presence for an audience. If He does not, you must remain outside. In ancient times this was a matter of life or death.
Remember this, the scepter was and is a visible symbol of the King’s power and authority. When the King extends His scepter to you, you may enter and everything in the Kingdom becomes yours. In other words, you have access. The writer of Psalms put it this way: Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your Kingdom. Psalm 45:6 This means that your authority in the Kingdom of the Lord God is righteousness. As long as you stay in line with the King’s Word (laws) you have power with His government.
Righteousness is also the standard by which the King dispenses His judgment. He shall judge the world in righteousness, and He shall administer judgment for the peoples in uprightness. . . God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 9:8, 46:1
The Lord God will judge the world as to whether the governments of this earth are in line with Heaven’s government. Let the heavens declare His righteousness, for God Himself is Judge. Psalm 50:6 If you remain in line with His Word, the Lord God will give you your rights as His citizens. This is what His Constitution states: Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Mercy and truth go before Your face. Psalm 89:14
When you are in right standing with the King, He is obligated to take care of your life…not because we said it, but because He has decreed it. He provides you with everything you may need. And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:31-33
When you are in right standing with the King’s authority and are in right relationship with the King, the King has a place of responsibility toward you. Righteousness activates His government in your life. The government is focused upon you. It does everything for you that you need. As it says in God’s Constitution: For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. In this you have done foolishly; therefore from now on you shall have wars.” 2 Chronicles 16:9 His eyes are on the righteous. Your righteousness activates the Kingdom government in your life.
Remember, your faith in His Word is your greatest asset in the Kingdom.
